Do q8 inherents drop anymore?

Let us hope that is not the case as I bought that warlord for +100e
Inscribable req8s still drop without a doubt and I don't see why tyrian req8s shouldn't, I doubt Anet would discriminate between inherents and inscribables and completely remove tyrian req8s drops As to their rarity, from personal experience; I've played GW for 27months and I havn't gotten a single perfect req8 in that time. My point is they were always rare but never ceased to drop completely.

I don't get it. What's the big deal with low req weapons anyways? If you don't have 12 in that weapon's skill you aren't going to be doing a lot of damage, particularly vs mobs with higher AL, and your skills for that set aren't going to be great either.

I'd understand it if there was a farming build that only let you put 10 or less points into a weapon, but that's because you need your points elsewhare and you might not be attacking all that much. But aside from that, if you can't manage 12, it ain't worth it.

Call me sad, but I hardly leave town and actually hack away at something, low req weapons = prestige and tbh I don't really care if they don't drop anymore like req7s, that'll just make them more prestigious

I and members of my guild used to farm like lunatics, and q8s (rubbish, mostly oc) were very frequent. As stated in Op, it's been a couple of months and none...

I'm probably off with the assumption that they no longer drop, but I'd still like to see a SS if possible

Req 8's are still dropping.

Proof of this is in the new reports and sell pages of requirement eight focus items with nightfall skins, mostly inscribable, such as blessed chalices, holy vials, etc. Elemental requirement prisms are also being introduced from what I see.

I suppose if those are still dropping, other weapons are still dropping Requirement eight.

Requirement Seven items and unconditional inherit weapons are no longer dropping though.

New sells and price checks are not valid evidence. A massive percentage of them will be recycled items. Regardless, even if they are fresh, I'm asking for SS evidence please. I'm not calling anyone a liar, I would just like complete confirmation. I'm also asking for Inherent only and not Inscription items.

Just to throw in my OT response to the OP's question -

I have a req.8 max FDS sitting in storage at the moment. It has no 15^50, +15% in stance, etc. on it, but I just kept it because it was req. 8 and I thought it was really strange. PM me in-game if you wanna see it.

I am in a major farming guild that has practically lived in the Deep for the last month doing Hard Mode runs. Tons of golds but not a single req 8. Each person opens 4ish chests plus averages about 3 gold drops (excluding Kanaxi's chest), so 7x12=96 golds per run, 3 runs per night, 45ish runs = 0 req 8's out of over 10,000 golds. Over half are chest drops, fwiw. Members of the guild have also vanquished Tyria and Cantha HM without a single r8.

I've had a few r8's drop while playing Guild Wars (15^50 chaos axe - now customized, 5^50 10% spawning wand of some sort, 15^50 fellblade), but none since the early days of Cantha. I recall some serious speculation after one of the upgrades that they stopped dropping r8's to balance them properly with green drops.

So while it's possible that they still drop, there is certainly no evidence that they do. And if they do drop, the chance of getting one seems less than 0.01%.

Q8 weapons are imba... not by much, but just being slightly imba makes them worth being removed from the game.

BTW: "Q" stands for Req now. And if you don't like it, Q.Q moar.

It's interesting how we can never ever get a response from A-net on a thing like this.

If you would learn to read carefully, you would see that the sales evidence I mentioned is only part of the whole post.

The compilation:

~Testimony from guildies of mine who have had Requriement 8's drop for them.
~My own testimony of having a requirement 8 drop for me a month ago.
~The fact that the sales of said items (req 8) are decreasing in value a slight bit, which implies that there are not a limited supply.

Ex. A Holy Vial, req 8 12 energy sold to me a month ago for X amount, in a close auction This day, I get offers for X-Y amount for it. This is not only my testimony, but many people I talk to who have experienced the same drop in value. I will gladly give you a few names of who you can talk to so you can clarify this evidence.


EDIT: To adress your complaint about non inscribable requirement eight drops, I realize my example is inscribable, but I do know people who can testify that they have gotten these items while farming/vanquishing/completing Tyria and Cantha on hard mode. My example is mainly to clarify the fact that if Requirement eight non inscribables were a limited supply, their prices would be much higher.


Before you tell someone off and correct them, I suggest you read carefully, just a thought.

I can only remember one r8 dropping for me in 2 yrs gw and that was a non max bow in desert. I am sure a few more maybe dropped but cant remember.

I would like to think they were just really rare.

Maybe anet remove drop r7 and make r8 new r7 by make limited drop.

I also feel the need to point this out for the points made that vanquishers have not found req 8's in hard mode.



Well, let's make a comparison.


In the entire game, there are 121 areas to vanquish. Reuirement 8 drops are rare, so let's compare this to elemental sword drops, which are also "Rare". I know many people who have farmed the areas where elemental swords supposedly drop well over 121 times and have not gotten a single sword. Just because a few people did not get it within the first 100 regions, does not mean they do not drop. It only means that they are unlucky and perhaps that these objects are rare to drop.

People not getting them in the process of vanquishing is not evidence.

i will try to find a req 8 and get a screenshot of it IF i manage to find one. if everyone gives this a shot we should have the answer soon. Plus i'll bug AP about tonight to see if he knows...XD

I had a req 8 Enternal Shield drop for me once while doing an UW run. But this was months ago. No mods on the shield; it was totally white. I'll post a screeny of the item in a lil bit.

Req8 White max does not count. I've gotten some of those, merched them.

I got one today.
A req8 +12 energy inscribed blue focus.

There have been no recent changes in the drop generation system, the last happened with NF release.

Hint: farm req8s where req7s used to drop before NF, they wont drop where r7 didn't and there are just as rare. Also no hard mode (but there are exceptions)
