One of the things that can hold back pve players in pvp is lack of *perfect* equipment or needing to change armor.

What if you can go to a structured PvP, such as HoH talk to an npc and set up a pvp setup that overly your PvE character equipment (weapons/mods/armor).

Example, I take my lvl 20 Ele so I can attempt HoH, I talk to an NPC which allows me to set up armor / weapons from the PVP selection that takes place of my normal weapon / armor slots and *only* works if I go in to pvp.

I can't take anything pvp related stuff back to pve and it would function as the same way as pvp, aka you have access to what's unlocked and such that pvp's have.

I think this would help one of the hurdles of a pve wanting to try out some of the more completive pvp modes.

Why not just make a pvp char?

Yup. You can purchase 26 character slots.

That makes 10 PvE, 10 PvP and 6 presearing.
MAking this would remove the use of PvP ones. And that's something Anet do not need. they need some spare cash to buy pizza, beer and pay the servers.

lol

That actually works out pretty well.

Alternatively, just use one slot for PvP and reroll it all the time.

See, the problem isn't that PvE characters have a disadvantage. The problem is that you aren't putting the effort into making your PvE character PvP ready. MANY top-rated players DO use PvE characters, and earn the gear needed to make it PvP ready. The problem isn't the game, the problem is many people think that the object of Guild Wars is to raise 10 characters at once... if you focus on making one character great, and only spend on that one, s/he will be PvP ready in no time.

Or, if that is too much work, make a PvP only character.

This is how it will be done in GW2! No separate PvP characters, use the same ones for everything, but for 'Competetive PvP' your level and equipment won't matter as your character level, attributes, equipment will get temporarily 'balanced' or maxed and you'll be able to choose any skills from the complete list.

As for now, just use a PvP char if your PvE isn't optimal.
