Tournament Crown dyes weird?

For my male mesmer I dye it yellow and it turns green, dye it green and it's still green. Meanwhile I see others with perfectly gold dyed crowns. Is it just my char that has a messed up crown?

It's the same for everyone, just a matter of working out which color dyes it gold (red, I think).

Red and brown makes a nice antique gold with just a hint of red.
Red and orange makes a nice brassy gold just a bit on the greenish side.
Adding silver to either combo gives a white gold color.

Yeah it takes a little experimentation to find the right colour. Most normal dye combos work though from what I've tried.

Even on that dye post with all the combos, when I dye my helmet yellow it turns green, not yellow like that post. I have a feeling it's still a bug with the crown for male mesmers.

Sounds like a bug.. The crowns do dye oddly, instead of looking like metal, like the Warrior armour, it seems to dye the same way as cloth. So dying it yellow creates a very bright colour that doesn't look right. Like others have said, you'll have to mix around a little to create a decent Gold colour.
If yours is constantly going green, I'd guess it's another mesmer bug. I guess all you can do is report it and wait for a fix.

Purple tends to soften the color down a bit. But they shine really really effectively

My crown dyed fine when I got it... I dyed it yellow silver orange to give it a nice gold effect
