Ok so I bought GW:EN from the online store but I was wondering if there was a way to avoid the long downloads ever time we switch maps. I assume if you actually bought the retail box version there will be no downloading (besideds the updates) Is there a way we can download the rest of the game with out having to switch between areas?

Thanks

Edit your GW shortcut with a "-image" so it's "C:\Program Files\GW\gw.exe -image" and it will download all the game files in one go.

Don't forget to remove the edit before playing again. Others can probably explain this better, since I never used this.

sure,

check your guild wars shortcute on your desktop and add -image to it

something like:
"D:\GAMES\GUILD WARS\Gw.exe" -image

If you have time to spare, do the -image. At the desktop click start > run > browse the location off gw.exe > type -image after the" so it looks like this "gw.exe" -image > let it run. This will download everything in one go, may take sometime depending on the size of the file and your connection speed.

Basically you don't have to dl everything anymore when you enter the new area. Go watch tv or something and come back later.

I find it convenient to make a copy of the GW shortcut, put the "-image" parameter on the copy, and rename it "GW update" or something. Then you can run it anytime without meddling with your regular GW shortcut.
