Hiya! I just reached a wall, died several times, and just too pissed off to keep trying without help.
I've tried most herosetups in this forum, but they are seriously no match for the Torment demons.
I've tried dual MMs, but the demons kills minions too quickly to get no ones.
Dual SF didn't work well either, They just.. Died. Over, and over again.
The third heroslot has been Morgan all the time.
I've tried some other setups, but they just keep on dying! :/
I play a AoL Dervish.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only dps my team has got.
Henchies are; Kihm, Mhenlo, Odurra and Devona.
Just can't get through Nightfallen Jahai!

IMO 2 Monk Henchmen + 2 SF + MM (Bomber maybe?) and then the rest devoted to DPS would work. Key is not to over aggro, and to take out things like the Word of Madness then the Rain of Terror (Really the Rains are higher priority, but the Monks healing them make the Monks alittle more annoying imo). Its very, very easy to over aggro in the Nightfallen areas.

Why Devona? For "Charge"? She has no defensive skills and honestly doesn't have higher DPS to make up for it. I think it might be safer to choose Cynn, Eve or even Aidan... because in that case, you'll be the only melee and have more control over agro, which, like Lurid mentioned, is the main source of problems in Nightfallen areas.
I read on Guildwiki that Rains are better taken down with spell damage, b/c their slowing hexes pwn meleers...

Bring a hero prot monk. Watch the patrols carefully and isolate groups. Make the monk prot you up, make sure you cover those enchantments. Go in alone and try to draw aggro, monks should be able to keep you alive fine. Most of the mobs shouldn't break aggro. Wipe em out one by one. Herta > Devona.

Have you checked through your quest log for one called "Breaking the Broken?" It's a masters quest that triggers by an invisible area just outside the zone. With this quest active you get ganked by a good 40 torment creatures if you're not fast.
If that isn't the trouble then:
*N/Me hero blood magic, inspiration, and soul reap.
BiP with inspiration interrupts and mp leech spells from mesmer
*N/Any hero MM
*Me/N hero Domination heavy, curses, inspiration
Spiteful spirit this one with inspiration interrupts and other curses/hexes that cause damage when enemies attack
*2x henchie monks, devona, and whatever else. I like to take a mage.
And of course pray not to overpull. GL

Yeah, check your quest log. Apart from the quest where you have to fight waves right outside town, you probably won't have that much trouble. just pick off one mob at a time. Flag H/H somewhere safe, and pull the mob back to your team. Easy.
Oh, and maybe go for spike damage rather than AoE. Unless you have good AoE. Just spreading middling damage over a mob without killing them will just have the whole mob use call torment and you'll end up fighting double what you were fighting in the first place. So take 2+ SF or not at all. One SF is pretty weak here. I recommend taking khim, mhenlo and sogolon. They'll keep you well healed. The rest should focus on damage.

I completely agree with you. I ran lightbringer farms in jahai up to rank 7 before HM came out, so I tend to forget that many people haven't spent as much time in there. Using AoE only works well in this area if the one running the AI understands how to spread heroes and henchies out to avoid AoE, and how to keep the enemy in a tight group. Using corners to bunch up the enemy is a huge help in this area, especially with minions to hang them up.
I haven't made this run since GWEN came out, and in the new areas I've noticed some of the enemy splitting off outside my hangups and tricking heroes into falling out of place. Ruins the whole lot. Anyone else noticed this?

i remember that zone, irritated me...its just one of those places which is really annoying to walk through, in my case, 3 monks can work for defense, 1 prot and 2 healing, or a SoR paragon, more associated with HA, but i use one and it works brilliantly, the monks just don't have to worry about themselves.

Make sure there are no quests in your book for Nightfallen Jahai except the one you are working on. AoL is very good.
Played my Dervish up there a lot like I played my Assassin. Which is to say ... er ... well ... heh heh ... (blush) ... you're going to need a Longbow!
You don't have to D/R, the Longbow isn't for damage; all you want to do is call fire for the heroes and hench. Let Devona take the flak. She is very good at taking flak. Do not charge into battle against them at the beginning of the battle. They will eat your lunch. And it is unnecessary to go after them, they will come after your casters anyway. Then is when you put away the Longbow and go after them with your Scythe.
Carry along a Domination Mesmer hero, does wonders against Rains. An earth ele with ward against elements helps a lot too, plus Sandstorm if you have it.
Eventually you learn to minimize aggro somewhat. But watch the minimap out of the corner of your eye. If you see another group coming in, just run. A partial party wipe is better than a full one.
