Impossible To Kill Cyndr The Mountain Heart... *Spoiler*
TechnoSword
after learning a few tips from the people below i have beaten him a long long while ago, but i guess people like to use this as a point of reference to how to deal with him so im just mentioning it in this edit now so you dont think im still rambling and confused lol
Keithark
You prolly out of luck for a while until more people get there if that is in-fact the end of the expansion
TechnoSword
its not the end its near the end =/,
Pwny Ride
So your asking for a nerf because you decided to rush ahead?
Etta
I don't even have the game yet, so wild guess here, but if he's using fire dmg, try winter maybe. KD & cripple, the ward of stability and RC prot monk should counter that. Or wait for more people to get there.
TechnoSword
i didnt rush ahead im just playing the storyline not trying to speed through, but ive just rolled in 3 different builds in an attempt and he wont budge >.<

Another lame look-how-far-I-am thread. I guess the thought of others "possibly" admiring your achievement outweighs screwing yourself out of $40?

Yes, because everyone knows that when someone asks for help, they're just bragging about how far they are.
OP, no clue tbh. Keep trying different builds, or wait until more people get that far.
Also, every bosses health regenerates, this one isn't different.

Im not really screwing myself out of 40 dollars if im enjoying the game, I got stuck and frustrated so ive turned over to questing around, but as all new things that comes out theres always going to be something that people complain about and eventually someones is going to mention it, so I did, if i wanted to show off how far i was i could have posted up pictures or something
edit ^ to the above post I was just thinking of the health regen because similar to abaddon, when you deal damage he doesnt regenerate the health so you can keep going at it.

Based on the content of the OP perhaps he is not Hero and Henchable, since they can't pick up powder kegs. Yet with real players you can have multiple people picking up powder kegs. May be a case that OP is SOL til more people get there to help with carrying the kegs.
TechnoSword
That might have been the problem. After 60dp I would rush in drop a bomb and rush out usualy his shot would take out all my henchies/hero also at 60dp and i would repeat until he needed 1 more, then I would flag my henchies away get hit by the blast myself and the last bomb would blow letting him be vulnerable, but then my henchies would walk over the lava spots on the ground and id be like oh noes >.< as we rez up his carapace and any dmg i do always recover -.-.
Coridan
what heros and henchies are you taking? got enough interrupts? can you shut down some of his casting with hexes and such? i don't have the game yet...sigh...stupid work and end of the month or else i would have just stayed home today...but NO anet had to release on the end of the month..../end rant...back to the OP i would be interested in knowing what you are running etc...so i don't do the same thing once i get there sometime next MONTH!
TechnoSword
I do have my gwen interrupt, but he casts at 3/4s speed and she doesnt interrupt it for some reason yet ive seen her do it before >.<. I am a warrior, with a water ele, interrupt mes, lod monk, and my henchies were devona, cynn, and aiden.
RTSFirebat
Some bosses cannot be easily interrupted. Maybe set one of your necro heroes has mass hexes and degen to shut the boss down?
TechnoSword
maybe ill try that, but right now my morale for it is dead at the moment lol. Im not sure about degen but he is only able to be hit by damage after his carapace is broken (3 fire bomb things). otherwise its alot of 0s and the hench heros still like to take swings at em. Also on a side note you have to go through 3 dungeon levels to reach him fighting mild amounts of undead and such.
papryk
Use spoil victor on him. It can help a lot...
Arkantos
I just beat him, no problem. I was expecting a hard battle, but this was a disappointment. It took me 2 times of using the explosives to beat him. I was running a DSlash warrior, Master was running SS, Vekk was running fire, then I had dunkoro, 2 monk henchies, zho and eve.
Absinth187
My apologies to the OP. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Guess getting 3 hrs of sleep after GW:EN releasing will do that.
If going for interrupt maybe try broad head arrow or spinal shivers. And what kind of prot monk are you running?

chief lazy horse
maby Grenths Ballance would work?
TechnoSword
thank you very much! the ss and hench build line up worked perfectly! I killed him using it just off the bat! Thank you very much I can continue on now
Clord
I found solution to it. Three GOOD BUILD monk heroes, two monk henchmen, two warrior henchmen (or one illusionist and one interrupter).

First off you need 3 powder keg bombs to weaken his carapace, THEN you get to do the damage, in about a few seconds the bar fills up he hides and pops up and you had to re apply powder keg bombs to weaken his carapace again to do damage! Worst part is his skills do 80 fire dmg, KD and cause cripple and if your kerry the keg it explodes! I am having an insane time trying to kill him not going past 70% health. Could anet at least make it so that his health doesnt regenerate? "3 powder keg bombs"? I don't remember doing any such thing. All I recall is pressing C, Spacebar, and waiting for him to die. Full team of hench/hero, so nobody else used any bombs.

You need to destroy his carapace to damage him. So either he was bugged for you, or you're just lying.
Well99
IParasite helped also if you did the 12 destroyer core quest one of the skills removes burning. My nec was degen.Took me 6 barrels to get him but had rit and para for dr.Also I didnt use at the time but Extingish(SP) monk protection spell might help keep you alive. Not enough sleep..)Good luck oh spread your heroes.
Fernando Vidigal
i defeat him with:
Me - Savannah Heat with mantra of flame 1 Hero - R/N Touch Ranger 2 Hero - R/N Touch Ranger 3 Hero - Interrupt Ranger - Broad Head Arrow Lo Sha Henchie Eve Henchie Prot Henchie Healer Henchie Very easy with this guys, kill at the first time Masterr
i did it with:
me: searing flames heros: lod monk mm (not really needed) SV necro (he did almost all the work) ranger interrupt hench prot monk hench earth ele hench dont remember what else... maybe another healer hench... you need to move your heros around all the time Molock
I though he was a pushover..
I beat him with 2 ele's, a warrior, 3 monks (2 heal, 1prot), 1 mesmer, 1 necro I only had to weaken his carapace twice. The first time I brought him to half health and the second time I finished him off. Death By Ketchup
I'm at him to, just fought him once and lost, but i heard spoil victor does wonders to him being able to hurt him even with his carapace up.

It died fast, I was assassin. Wurm went underground and emerged next to that guy who give those powders.
Convulsing Crunchy
I beat him in about 13-20 seconds. I don't know why everyone says he's impossible.
The Little Viking
I wont say hes impossable...but he is a bit difficult. Thanks for all the possable hero/hench ideas...im off to see what happens this time.
Fionn Falaich
He is definitely not easy on a first try, but once you experience him and know what to expect, he can be much easier with the right build, even with hero/hench. Also, as has been said above in this thread, you can damage him even when his carapace is at full strength, with blood necro life stealing/armor ignoring skills (and others, I'm sure). My first try, he completely destroyed my party, over and over and over....
When I knew what to expect, I went as a Savannah Heat fire ele, with Sousuke as a SH fire ele/rit with Shelter. I also took MoW and Olias as Spoil Victor blood necros. For hench, I took the Mhenlo and Lina (I seriously wish we had a second healer hench like Kihm, rather than Lina... Lina=meh ), Talon and Lo Sha. I manually had Sousuke set up Shelter before engaging Cyndr, and then I ran the powder kegs. Meanwhile, with both Olias and MoW using Spoil Victor and their other life stealing skills on him, Cyndr was down to around 33% health by the time his carapace fell the first (and only) time, and with a Savannah Heat from both me and Sousuke, he died within seconds. You win some, you lose some . . . . He was an interesting boss at first, no doubt, but with proper planning, he's absolutely doable with H/H. ps: forgot to mention that flagging your heroes is a great idea and may work with different builds, but I found that with the team build that I ran, I didn't need to flag anyone...much easier and less of a headache. Verteiron
To those having trouble, no it's not just you. This wurm's a real bitch. My wife and I beat him on the second try, just barely; we kept cracking his shell until he spawned RIGHT next to the power keg dwarf. Then we'd just run out at 60% DP, get Spoil Victor on him, he'd slaughter us and take a bit of damage... rinse, lather repeat. Finally cracked his shell and killed him once he was down to about 10% health.
Not elegant, but it worked eventually, and it was worth it to not have to go through those stupid snowball traps and toucher elementalists a third time. Elinold Fyonex
I honestly had no problem killing this guy. I used the same heroes/henchies I used all game up to that point - me as cripslash war, 2 SF ele heroes, LoD monk Hero, the two monk hench, cynn, and the interupt. Beat the whole game up to destructions depths with that (excluding GOLEM as you need to split and I hate controlling henchies) I ran the bombs and killed him after 2 cycles easy peasy. BTW never moved my heroes, but I know i set dunkoro/hero monk to flight always and switched the ele's between guard and flight as their energy dropped or he was invulnerable. That should help a bunch.
demonblade
I killed it with entire party of hench and heroes with 60% DP and no SS nor SV, just good old running and dodging attacks while dropping kegs... many many kegs
Zeiois
Cyndr is harder than the end boss (Spoilers: The Great Destroyer), from what I've experienced with my ranger.

It appears that this boss is the new THK....a noob barricade

What? Just bring Livia with Spoil Victor, spread your heroes and put henches behind. Prot spirit on you and you tank him. Sure, I got killed few times, but because I flagged henches on a river of flames... Anyway, Spoil Victor > Cyndr.
And if The Great Destroyer is easier, then... Well, he's the easiest end-game boss ever. I think that Lich is now 2nd easiest end-game boss. Omniclasm

ive beated this mission today with
me as a Lod monk and protective spirit livia as SV moW as SS talkora as ZB prot henchmans were mehnlo, zho, the earth hench, devona just go in spread them out and then prot spirit evry 1 you can ... i just used the kegs 5 times .. didnt need to take out his carapace cause the SS and SV pretty much just hurts him whenever he attacks |
