Seriously, what happened?
Lord Xeshm
They got lazy after doing water for 3 campaigns?
mr_groovy
Well they had al the edges, but a supervisor said i want those edges smooth times 20. So here's the result.

Water in Canthe is different from water in Tyria, don't you know?
Mr. Monk
I was too busy enjoying the Asura and Charr lands over the drab Nightfall areas and just plain ugly city that was kanieng or whatever it was called to notice the water .
But yeah, there is a difference.
EDIT: i retract this statement. i was in Verdant Crusades. the river there is disgusting.

Frozen waterfall??
J/K
It looks to me like they didnt prioritize the polygons on that specific waterfall.....perhaps they were using those elsewhere on that map
I know theres a nice waterfall in Far Shiverpeaks that i like...

The waterfall in the Hero Arenas looks like the one in GW:EN, as well. Very ugly.

Obviously this isn't game breaking, but after seeing the improvements to the graphics in Factions and Nightfall, I figured EotN would follow such a pattern. I didn't expect mind blowing Crysis-like graphics, but the direction of the art seems to be heading in the direction of the style used in WoW (most noticeable when you look at the models of Jora and the other Norn), which is somewhat of a step backwards.
It's not ugly as the scenery and character models are still well done, but it seems as if they decided to tone things down. The whole thing is more of a 'wtf?'-factor than a 'holy crap, this sucks CHANGE IT NOW!'.

You've got it all wrong. I remember ANet people being proud of what they did with water in Factions, and it seems that since Factions they've thankfully started paying attention to other things.
Besides, it's just water. It's not like you can swim in it or jump up the waterfall

I would rather they just copy+paste the water from Factions then have something that looks like moving granite.

Remember! Always chose 'Canthan's Mineral Water', known for its looks and its taste!

I went out to map The Falls (Maguuma jungle area) the other day, which was only the second time I'd actually walked all the way to the waterfalls themselves. And I swear that on the previous occasion I'd been there, the water had been moving... yet this time, there were only little sprays at the top and bottom - the main flow was completely still. They looked like they were frozen. Can anyone confirm that the water used to move?
I remember being quite impressed by them before, but now without flowing water they're just ugly. Fix please?
