PC Req 9 max Bow worthless?

I have a purple max bow req 9 of fortitude and I was told it'd be worthless to put a 15^50 on it because people don't want purple at all, they go for gold or nothing.

This true? If so what should I do? The +25 bow health is pretty much worthless too. Sell to merchant? Even if I get NF I have no intention of getting a ranger hero.

If it's common skin then merchant food yes, purple items are always hard to sell.
