Hello, I'm pretty new here - and I've been playing Nightfall for about three days now and I was intrigued by the build of a 130HP Derv. However, in farming I found it difficult to do enough damage (I'm a bit impatient). There was nothing wrong with the previous build; except not enough damage was done. I'm sorry if this build has been posted, and if it has, I guess it's converging evolution ;-).

Here's my alternate build that utilizes a skill that might have been overlooked by most people.

Skill Bar:
1. Protective Spirit
2. Mystic Regeneration
3. Mystic Vigor
4. Eternal Aura SUNSPEAR TITLE TRACK. Beautiful Isn't It?
5. Staggering Force
6. Vow fo Strength
7. Balthazar's Spirit
8. Essence Bond.

Attributes:
Scythe: 12 + 3 + 1
Earth: 8 + 3
Protection: 10
Mysticism: 2 + 3

(Please note that you can get away with making Protection at 9 because it's a 1 second difference on the duration of Protective Spirit; 17seconds vs. 16seconds. You can relocate them into Earth Prayers making your Vow of Strength and Staggering Force stronger.)

I'm sure you all know the drill, upon entering you use skills 7 and 8. Right about when you're going to go Leeroy Jenkins on the enemy you put on Protective Spirit and Mystic Regen. Now this is when it gets interesting, once you sufficiently rounded up the herd, you cast eternal aura, followed by staggering force, followed by vow of strength. You might be thinking that's way too much energy being used, how am I going to keep it up? The answer to that is Vow of Strength is 5 energy that would be around for 20 seconds, you won't be using it every 5-8 seconds like you would in a previous build. Keeping up Protective Spirit and Mysic Regen when necessary. Mystic Vigor allows for that all important spike heal. Just keep spamming Eternal Aura and Staggering Force -- and eternal aura will also recharge your staggering force for you to use again. The thing with Vow of Strength is that every attack you hit will be boosted, so it's essentially using a skill every 1-2 seconds which is great for your energy.

Please let me know what you think. I did Djinn Farming in the Hidden City, and it went by real quick with this build.

Like the concept, but eternal aura has the longest recharge out of all the AOE enchants for a derv, perhaps a different skill?

wouldnt you be better off subbing eternal aura for heart of fury or other IAS to attack faster?

Why not Aura of Holy Might? Its a Smite, Damage increaser and Another Smite!

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Aura_of_Holy_Might

And unlike Vow of Strength, Aura of Holy Might has a note at the very bottom

"Contrary to the description, the stated percentage increase is actually added to the user's damage rating.

For example, at title rank 5, rather than increasing damage by 25%, it raises damage rating by 25, effectively increasing damage by 54%.

For details, see the discussion page and the article on damage calculation."

I would run BOTH Aura of Holy Might and Eternal Aura, Eternal Aura.

Would that not do more damage?
