Gold drops nonexistant

I don't remember what drops I got in the preview weekend, but I had major issues with lockpicks breaking. (Can't play GW:EN at the moment, thanks stupid courier who failed to deliver the game to the whole of Australia -__- )
For GW:EN chests, my pick retention rate claimed to be 53%, but the ACTUAL retention rate was 10% or less for me. Did anyone else notice this? I got very frustrated that my 50-odd supply of lockpicks that would last me a month elsewhere dwindled extremely rapidly.

i think at the least that any drop in GW:EN should be max dmg...i mean come on its an expansion for MAX lvl characters....does anyone know of any LVL 20's warrior/ranger/deverish/paragon/assassin that doesn't use MAX dmg weapons?

30 Lockpicks; 50 Chests; 30 Golds. Can't complain.

ive had 1 gold in about 20ish hours of paly ,did a dungeon today with a team of 7 (1 hero) and 2 golds dropped, its wired.

its only my opinion but, i think that the drop rate from locked chests in gwen is pretty similar to 400g keys, i got much more gold drops from 600g keys in other campaigns than from locked chests in gwen.Also i tried to see if it was like that for the locked chests in other campaigns,but it seems it only affects gwen, did some ss/lb runs, the usual 2 chests, 90% of the time i get a gold item, even tho they are pretty crappy.

also, I agree with whoever said that there shouldn't be non-max items. This is specifically an expansion for level 20 characters, why on earth would non-max weapons drop?

I actually got a green (Lissah's Edge) in my first hour of playing when the game officially went live . But, I know I've gotten far more purples from locked chests than golds, the only gold item that dropped from a foe was an XP scroll of some kind.

I haven't seen a gold in about a week... and I'm not just talking about GWEN areas. I've been opening chests all over the place and only get purples. As for regular drops... it's all junk.

I was using lockpicks in the beginning but decided to stop when I got 30-something purples to 5 gold with basically no lockpick retention. Okay, with 2 lockpicks I retained them 3 times each, but I already count lockpicks as a loss no matter where my titles are at.
Those dungeon chests were nice to me I guess. 2 Diamonds, 1 Gold, 1 Green. Haven't done them since preview though. If those drop purples I just won't bother anymore.

It's not just GW I'm talking about though. Sometimes I wish they'd (developers) just code in a set rate or just make everything purchase-able and mod-able.

It's pretty interesting to see that some people get 30 golds, while others get 1 or none. *damns his luck and GW's randomness*
EDIT: And now that I think about it...if we want to open chests, why are we forced to use Lockpicks, which cost 1500 each, anways? Was Anet too lazy to make keys for each area? Was there a motive behind it (mega gold-sink)? I thought being "forced" to use lockpicks was reserved for HM, where the payoff was a bit better than NM. So...why the change here? :/

1 gold drop so far and I agree even the white drops are poor non max stuff.

I've gone through 50 chests and I've gotten 5 golds. My retention is poor even though my percentage is 58%. Just my luck I guess.

I've been farming a lot, and I think I've seen two gold drops so far. One for me on for a PUG person. I've been hero henching it all the way besides three dungeon runs with six heroes and two humans. Chests drop them a lot for me, but the enemies don't.

I killed 500 enemies at least getting norn points today and don't remember any gold drops. I have a sinking suspicion the drop rate still heavily favors all human parties, but who's going to use that in this game?
