I remember when Factions was released, there was art work with Pandas in it and people asked if there would be charmable pandas in Cantha.

I remember this because someone cleverly added that white tigers are in Cantha which there are about a dozen of in the real world.

Pandela, the panda is only part of a quest and as for Chinese people not allowing pandas to be hurt I wouldn't know about that, but as for the mini pet. You have an absolute zero percent chance to get it unless you figure out a way to dupe things again 
In case no one posted about this there are only about 20 in existence and probably less since the ban of accounts. But dedicate your life to GW and that panda could be yours. Sorry about the pessimism but you'd have to rob a bank to get one

1000 ecto is 5.5 million gold. Which would take like 3 years if you play casual, now. In the past you could make it within about 5 months if you power traded or were lucky. I'm sure you could still now but only if you're in the power trading ranks of greatness, whatever that is.

I mean... if they have different districts for different countries and whatnot (and as far as I'm aware I can't even get to the Chinese ones) .... then can't they make some sort of systematic mod whereby folks on the European and American servers can get Pandas as pets and the asians get some other more conventional kind of bear?
Or must we rely on TexMod?

Aren't there Panderen in WoW? Also, if the Chinese love the Panda so much (which incedently is delicous with a white wine), why are they damming up the Xaing Xi (spelling?) river, isn't that supposed to be mythically tied to the panda's? If I remember my delicious panda lore, they used to be all white, then some great panda died, and they got their black marks by hugging each other and wiping their tears away after they trode through her ashes, and the tears of the delicious panda's created this river. I think???

However in Tekken series, other character is not killed outside cut scenes but knocked out. So basically Panda is not killed.

As for China, I don't know if it's legal or illegal to harm Pandas (ingame) but even if they're just being culturally sensitive I see no real issue with that. There are plenty of other ranger pets to choose from.

I do not see issues with the Panda pet. It is a minipet, does not fight, cannot be killed - except by boulder maybe, do not tell the chinese plz.
I found it silly enough that the red crested crane hat to be changed to a blue crested crane....

China has a huge share of the MMO market, China (being a totalitarian regime) has laws protecting it's "sacred symbols," thus if Anet wants to sell GW in China they have to comply with the whims of their dictatorship. It's not that hard to understand. It's not analogous to flag burning in the US, either, since (as of now, and hopefully into the future) our laws value freedom of speech over symbolism.
