GuildWars: Eye of the North is an amazing expansion to the game.
The people that keep complaining "Oh i played 12 hours and i beat the game already" really just have no lives. where's the sleep/ homework/ work/ friends come in? 12/48 hours on guildwars. huh?
well.. enough ranting on that..
This game is more leaned towards casual players. it took people 12 hours to beat the game.. but they had to do no side quests. when you do side quests it takes much longer. Also if you do dungeons. There is plenty of time to spend in dungeons. and they're WAY fun!
When people say "oh my god Grind for titles blah!"
doesn't every game have you grind? and really.. you don't absolutely HAVE to grind (for casual players) but people that beat the game quick.. Anet has to add in something for them. so Anet adds in grind titles so that it will keep addicts busy for a while longer.
but really.. it's not even that bad. Unless you find killing boring...
to wrap this up.. this whole point of the thread is GW:EN is a really great game so far!
Dungeons, New Storyline, New Heroes, HoM, New Weapons, New Aspects to the game, Mini Games, An Enviornment Better Looking Than Ever Before, And So Much More!
seriously.. it's great.
To all of you whiners out there.. i'm sure you probably want to come into this thread and complain some more.. but i'm asking you nicely. Please Keep It To Yourself!
Thank you for reading my book. Wow whineing about whiners.I always get a kick out of that.As far as it being a great game.It is like any other game. There are things you will like and other things you wont.
Someone who hasnt bought the game should look at what people are saying and see if the game is for them. The leet armor has no meaning to me.I could care less about it.My Droks has as good as stats with the exception of those uber gloves. As far as people haveing the right to complain or not. That is up to them. They bought the game so they should say what they are disappointed with or what they like.
If GWGuru feels they are doing it in a inappropiate way they will take action.Their forum their rules.

how long did it take them to grind 75 ectos for the gloves not to mention all the rare materials for an additional 2 full sets of armor? (as one earlier poster mentioned on another thread)
he/she did not whine a bit at how long the farming grind was for the materials but bitterly yelled at spending a very small fraction of that time getting a trader open
he/she said the 40 dollars was wasted because the new armors were not good enough and they were not interested in quests/missioms/etc.
if they were only there for the armor they were morons for not waiting 2 days for the armor pics to decide to spend or not

I have to agree. Yes, the primary story quests are short, but the expansion is pretty clearly designed to give us tons of things to do to make GW last for quite a while longer (armor you really have to work for, dungeons, titles, side quests, repeatable tournaments, a Hall of Monuments which will actually take some dedication to fill, etc). The armors are largely tweaks and/or reskins, but for the most part this doesn't bother me. Personally, I absolutely despised every set of Ranger armor in Nightfall, but I didn't complain then and now I have set of Norn armor (which is new) and I love it. If I have any complaint about the armor, it's the lack of a true endgame set for what is apparently the final PvE "chapter" in the GW1 saga. That and the Dwarven "set" isn't really a set at all unless you're a warrior. Again though? I don't find it a big deal at all.
Of a larger concern to me is the state of Dervishes and Paragons in the game as a whole. As professions, these two it seems will always get the short end of the stick. They will always have smaller skill sets, number of armors, numbers of elites, etc, than the other classes simply because they were the last professions to be released. So I think if anything some exclusive content for them could have been added to make up for it. For example, let's look at Warriors, Assassins, and Dervishes with elite skills: Across all campaigns, Warriors have 36 elite skills. Assassins have 25. Dervishes, however, have 15, and will always only have 15. Mind you they are some really powerful skills, but I wonder if Nightfall professions are doomed to obsoletion by virtue of being the last two added. Again, not a GW:EN complaint strictly speaking, it just seems like something that only GW:EN could have addressed at this point.
Overall, there is so much to do and explore in the expansion aside from the main quest line and the armor sets, that I find little to complain about. Personally, I've completed the "story" and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface here. Sorry for being so wordy, but I think if most people just get out there and play the thing, they will have fun. Remember why you played PvE Guild Wars in the first place (it probably wasn't to rush to get the expensive stuff and display titles, but to have fun exploring and bashing monsters), and I think you'll find that the expansion holds some of the best content in the series. If you don't like it, I feel bad for you, really. Give it a chance. I don't play Zelda to see what color I can turn Link's tunic in the latest game. I play to experience the fantastic gameplay and have a good time. Guild Wars is the same for me. That's what I wanted out of the expansion and personally, that's what I got. Just my two cents.
