I'm playing the original GW, with a level 12 R/W... Where am I to get faction?

Sorry, probably a very noobish question.

Im a noob too, so I know how it feels like, . If you're playing the original GW there is only one place I know of to get faction for balthazaar, not Luxon or Kurzick faction. After the searing if you go to ascalon, I believe theres a place that connects you to the Ascalon arenas there, where you can fight in PvP and earn faction to unlock skills and items for you're PvP only characters.

Thanks for the reply!

So that's the only way to get faction in the first Guild Wars?

It is... sort of correct Grand.

There are other places to get Balthazar faction. It can be earned in the battle isles (avialable once you hit Lion's Arch, and meant for level 20 players). It can be earned in Ascalon arenas (accessable right from Ascalon City) which is for lower level characters then yourself. It can be earned in Yak's Bend arena. That is the one your level 12 can use atm, since its for level 15 and below characters (I think).

Anyway, Bathazar Faction (which is what you are asking about, and is different from the types of faction earned in the game named Factions) is basically a point/reward system earned in Player vs Player matches.

Every time your team kills somebody in PvP, you earn faction. Everytime you win a fight, you earn faction.

Faction can be used at a priest of bathazar to unlock items for your account. *NOTE* you WON'T get those items or skill on your PvE characters. By unlocking skills through faction, you can then use those skills on any PvP character.
