couple of questions

hey again, all
1) how exactly do you join a guild? is there a building somehwere where you can basically register your character to a guild? or is it just a fancy woird for "party" in this case?

2) i've heard of arena where people can go to verse each other for experience and gambling items. that sounds very fun, how do i do it?

1. You join a guild either by being invited to a guild by an officer; or by creating your own guild at the Guild Registrar (who is in Ascalon City, Lion's Arch, big cities). If someone sends you an invite, hit G to bring up guild screen where you can accept.

2. There are arenas where players fight one another, but I am not sure where you heard about gambling items. All of the arenas can be accessed by PvE players (once they physically reach the location in-game). PvP-only characters can access only the level 20 arenas.

You gain experience and faction by killing and winning matches. There are random arenas, where you are put on a team automatically, and there are team arenas where you form a group before you enter. These are always 4 v 4. There are also 8 v 8 PvP options such as guild battles and the Tomb of Primeval Kings.

You must be invited to join a guild by an officer of a guild. Or create your own via the guild registrar and guild emblamer.

Look for an arena guard in Ascalon - post sear, Yaks Bend, Lions Arch and Droknars. They have level restrictions. You do not gain items but can earn faction for unlocking of items for a PvP character.

Stand in any major city like Ascalon and you will hear people shouting
guild recruiting members!
Thats your guild entry or you could just shout looking for guild or start one yourself

The arenas basicly go up in level.
The only arena that gives your team items for winning is The Hall Of Heros which can be entered through winning battles in the tomb of the primevil kings(located in the desert or you could start a pvp char to get there faster).You also gain fame (rank) and faction.

hmm, these arenas sound fun

is there any map of ascalon, which shows exactly where all the trainers, merchants, guild registration areas, fighting arena's, etc. are?

If you hold down ALT all of the NPCs in the area become highlighted on your screen so that you can find them easier.
