Hey there,
I'm wondering if there is any way to configure GW so it could connect to the internet using another port than the default one : Port 6112. (TCP) ?
I've tried putting -port 100 for instance at the end of the shortcut line, but this does not seem to be it.
Anyone?
Change the port GW is using?

err.. anyone? please?

Interesting question. Most games I know would have you configure your firewall rather than change the port. Have you checked the support section on the www.guildwars.com?

Are you trying to connect GW through a proxy?

lol okay i knew i'd get that kind of answers
Let me detail the thing further: my current university provides us with internet connections in our rooms. We have internet access, but no downloads or games allowed, they block most ports. Msn or skype works, but for instance webcams wont work either on msn.
Gw, big surprise, is not working. Using the port I mentioned above and that port is blocked on the network here. There are a number of unlocked ports, like port 100. So then, any way I could change the port gw is using? :'(

Couple of things you can try.
If you are connected through a university more than likely it would be via a proxy, i doubt that the uni. would provide a direct connection.
If its a proxy there are a couple of things you could try.
As GW has no way of setting ports or proxy settings then the first thing you could try is to install proxycaps/sockscap/freecap id recommend freecap as its free and easiest to find. With freecaps, all you do is enter your network settings for the university and add GW to the program list and freecaps with sockisfy the connection for you.
If that doesnt work the other option, which is more crude, but works, is to download your-freedom, configure this and then use freecaps with this, your freedom is bascially a http tunnel allowing you to connect through a proxy using http ports.
Id recommend trying freecap first as the connection will be quicker and its easier to configure.
The only other option is to make a request to the uni's network admins.

Using proxycaps/scokscap/freecaps no.
Using the your-freedom way then all they will see is you connected to one specific IP with obvious U/L and D/L's.
Id hope freecaps would work for you as your-freedom is cruder and slower.
