OK, here it goes.....
I recently installed my soundblaster audigy soundcard. Before that i was using onboard sound and of course it sucked. With the soundblaster installed and after i play the game for a bit, the sound, when you talk to the merchant or any one fo the npc's that sell stuff, you dont hear their voice anymore. I also lose the voices int he cinematics. I can hear some of the sound in the background but no voices when the chars talk. If i go to options--->sound then unclick use 3d audio hardware and uncheck use eax.. then check them both again everything will work fine again for a little bit. Any ideas on this would greatly be appreciated. I have reinstalled the latest drivers for sound card. BTW- i did not have this prob with onboard sound, but i also was not trying to use eax either.
Thanks in advance
sound problem when playing for a little bit.

I've had this happen on my nForce4 motherboard's onboard audio; sound effects that are played often disappear after a while and nothing short of restarting the game or temporarily switching off HW audio will bring them back. I ended up playing with GW's software audio, even though it sounds awful.
I thought it was just a problem with Nvidia's shitty audio drivers (I've ran into a few ways to cause a BSOD through them while coding, Nvidia doesn't seem to care), but if it happens on Creative's stuff too it may be a bug in Guild Wars.
If so, there may not be any solution besides turning 3D hardware sound off and hoping they'll fix it later.

Well i tested the sound out without using the 3d audio hardware and ethe eax and i never lost sound, so it has to do with the 3d audio hardware and the eax. Thanks for your info lordpwn, looks like it is not just a creative problem. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
