Remove 100 Gold Tourney Cost

100g is a pain when yo uwant something out of the tournament that you have no idea if you will get,

fighting Zho, to get the book

or tryign to unlock the ritualist and dervish heroes,

then there is the green handed over by Zehtuka

getting that book cost me nearly 2k in gold, and i have been round 10 times to not have Zehtuka appear

Zehtuka gives you a green? I killed him several times but no green. Do I have to actually finish the tournament for it ? I never bothered to get so far. (And Magni usually turns me into little pieces of former me.)

Maybe they can make two versions of the fight? Add a poor man's mode, available after beating Round One: Fight! once, where you can enter for free and play for pleasure and still unlock heroes/get Zho's book, but no token if you beat Magni.

Also... what's this about a green from Zehtuka? I beat him several times and didn't get crap!

took me about 3k to get through it with my tanking build.

its not a primary quest, i think the 100gold is to stop people farming the tokens (which has happened!) but the prices are now like 150gold !

You need to beat zehtuka with his horn in your inventory (Nightfall)

remove the cost, i mean, so what if people farm tokens ? they spend time doing so, so why is it any different from farming anything else ?

My opinion is this: Either remove the 100 gold cost from the Norn Arena, or keep the price tag and put the 100 Norn reputation point bonus back into the quest reward.

Personally, 75 points (6 rounds) just isn't enough for 100 gold. 175 points total would be more reasonable, as was the case during the preview event.

Given that I won't bother paying 100 gold for a Kurzick Blessing in Echovald unless I know I'm getting at least 4000 points out of it.... the very notion of paying 100 for a 75 points that I probably won't win anyway is just stupid.

Thanks for the support guys and gals, and I wouldn't necessarily mind if the cost were justified by maybe being required at Level 1 Round, disappearing after you get to Level 2 or whatever, or something similar.

It's a lot of gold for 2 minutes of my time. I don't necessarily mind that Bison or Alesia slaughter me, for I know some minor balancing and a proper build (that just happens to slaughter every random opponent toon [lol]) will indeed work great - that's my problem to work on, but ANet, the 100 gold is your problem to work on. Meet me in the middle there folks.

Let's see.. we have to pay 100g, and the challengers before Bison are out to beat you, which means they most likely paid to enter too. So there's no cash prize of at least 700? You paid 100g, and the other 6 challengers you beat must have paid 100g each.. and it would make sense if you lost to Bison, he would get the cash instead.. but is a Bison token really worth that much? meh.

It's probably just a case of me not caring about money And being contrary, I guess.

either remove or cheapen. I admit I got lucky, less than 10 times both times I went for zho's journal, but as yet I'm unable to beat bison, and it gets wearing paying money over and over to get smacked down

I do find it starange as the prizes are worth less than even 5 wins in a row

And after you have a crown then what? Buy alcohol? can't you get same effect for cheaper else where?

There are those of us who arent there to kill Bison either. I had to enter tourney 20 times before Zho would spawn for the Journal thats 2k for 1 char x 10 chars thats 20k. Thats a bit much you think?
