More intergration between GWEN and Prophercies?
freekedoutfish
Since GWEN is out now and the Asura and Norn are walking around the continent, how about introducing the Asura and Norn to prophercies.
If for no better reason then as an incentive to play GWEN. This could be done in a few simple ways...
1) Connnect GWEN areas to Prophercies areas via Asura Gates. But you can only use them after you have entered GWEN, done the primary quest and your lvl20, and they are protected by Asura gaurds on both sides.
If you try to access them when your not allowed to, you get some rude comment back about being a booka.
These Asura gates would be between...
Sparkfly swamp and tulas chute,
Anvil Rock and maybe Varajar Fells,
Magus Stones and Tangle Root
and maybe somewhere between Char homeland and Ascalon.
The benefit is the interest it would create about what these Asura Gates are when new players see them. They can talk to the Asura guards and find out.
It would also allow players to move between the two games alot easier, if need be!
2) Place Asura and Norn henchmen into Prophercies outposts (maybe even Golems?). It makes sense that now the two races have come into contact with humans and worked alone side one another, they might want to expand out and intergrate.
We have seen the Asura interacting with humans in their own homelands and they arent that far from Lions Arch, so it makes sense they could migrate north to Kryta.Again this adds more intrigue for new and existing players as to who these people are.
3) Put Asurans NPCs into Lions Arch and Norn NPCs into Droknars. Basically just as NPCs that you can speak to and ask questions about the Destroyers in the North. Have the Asurans be playing with a Golem and talking about something intellectural. The Norns can be changing into bears every now and again.
4) Any other ideas?
At the minute, the two games are very independant of one another. In makes sense that eventually these 3 cultures are going to mix and intergrate more, so why not have some migrate into Kyrta, Ascalon the jungle, the desert and the fire isles?
It cant do any hard and it will build interest in GWEN and these new races you play in GW2. It will also give those who havent got GWEN something to peek their interet.

Interesting ideas but serve little to no gameplay purpose because you can just use map anyway.

/agree on number one, also conect the falls to margus stone, maybe even with dungeons

There is an established story line already.

And are you going to explain that response a bit more?
This wouldnt effect the storyline at all, because you wouldnt be able to use the Asura gates between the two games unless you have completed GWENs main quests.
So what if you run into 3 or 4 Asura Gates around prophercies before you have completed the game?
It just adds mystery to it and makes you want to find out more, so you go out and invest in GWEN! It wont disrupt the storyline at all.
Neither will have NPCs and new henchmen.

it will if you are playing trough proph and thers stuff sitting there that isn't supposed to be for another 6 years.
seriously it would be horrible, it might work in other mmos if the world was constantly changing, but this game has way to linear of a storyline.
not to mention it makes no sense with map travel

No reason for connecting them but they should add the new monsters and races into prophecies.
Add a couple of asura here and there in LA, Amnoon etc.
Norn in Droks and so on.
Also add the mobs into prophecies as well. this way it seems all integrated together.
I did the norn quests first and found it funny that all the new mobs have difficulty corssing the hill into the ice tooth area for example

not to mention it makes no sense with map travel GWEN is based 6 years in the future? I wasnt aware of that! I was under the impression it was happening straight after prophercies or more or less at the same time.

They aren't going to do anything that requires them to actually write any new programming, sorry
Silly Warrior
This idea is good, but since Prophecies is 6 years prior to EoTN, it would be very confusing to tell what year was what, with Asura gates everywhere.
Its a great idea really, but the timeline would get all jacked up.

Except the bonus mission packs they are currently working on.
I don’t know; the way they have the storyline at the end, is to the fact most of the gates got destroyed. Look at the central transfer station, it’s probably going to take months after to get those gates back up and running. Also I have to agree the storyline between Prophecies and EotN is a huge time gap in-between.
I would have at least thought afterwards you could use some of those gates to get to dungeons you already explored. However I guess that’s not the case now.
