Help On Fire And Pain!
Tender Wolf
OMFG I've been on this stupid quest for 2 hours!!! I CAN NOT KILL THE CHARR EFFIGY! I can't even get close because the stupid djinn and the flowstone elementals aggro and come after me! And I try to take them out, they just run off and aggro another group. I have that stupid Borrguus Blisterbark to deal with too, plus he has like 4 other SF nukers in his group so one hit and my party dies. Then I run through the forest and even though no ememies are around, we all get caught on fire! And since when are djinns and stone elementals immune to burning?! They never have been before! So my nukers are rendered useless! We're all at 60dp and I can't even get the Charr effgy to drop ONE HEALTH...WTF am I doing wrong?! And then as everyone knows the henchie AI has gone way down...I tell them to run, what do they do? Stay and fight, when they're set to guard! I swear this game has it in for me. It's made entirely too hard. Master's missions shouldn't even exist. I'm getting very fed up. I'm ready for Guild Wars 2...
General DS
I found that mission very easy... the charr effigies are invincible due to a skill of theirs (for x seconds (like 45 or something) you take no damage and foe that deals damage to you takes equal damage that he dealt) or something like that..
anyhow, wait for the effigies to settle down, sneak around behind them and just kill the boss... boss will die, and youll get the countdown timer and youll compltee the quest

Use paragons, their damage reduction and defense is a blessing.

I won't sit here and say that quest was very easy (it wasn't), but it is manageable, even at 60dp. It will take a little while, but if you go and focus on one burning spirit at a time (even if it's part of a group), you can whittle the group down. I did this and even had a wasted slot (an MM). Took me about 20 minutes, but they all died in the end.

If you take out the flowstone elementals one by one, that really helps. After that, you will notice that the burning spirits have a patrol. So you can time your dash towards the boss and the effigy to when the patrol has past. I recommend that you try to take out the charr boss first. The charr effigy isn't too bad once there is nothing around it.
Note, when I did this, I died in excess of 40 times. It just takes awhile. I blame gwen. I don't have enough mesmer skills to make her effective.

Two Light of Deliverance Monks really help take the edge off an SF nuke, so if you have access to that elite, grab a hero monk and Menhlo. That's another suggestion you might find useful.
Good luck!

Well I'll try it but I just found something else - apparently you can ride on the siege devourers if you come in through Dalada Uplands? Is this true? Because it also said that if they die, you're thrown off of it and a melee Charr comes out. And do your heroes get to use the mounts too? Are they like the junundu wurms? And I had every single Charr killed except that effigy. I killed the boss first. All that was left was the effigy and most of the flowstones were cleared out except for the SF boss. Which I can't drop for the life of me. It's ridiculous. My nukers are rendered useless because everything in there is now immune to burning, yet the djinn in Nightfall would burn fine...Totally unfair.

No offense, but is a fire nuker all the damage people can come up with?
We cleaned out the place with 6 people, obviously you don't bring fire damage to a burning forest. An ss necro, dom mes, couple monks, broadhead ranger and and earth (unsteady or even sandstorm) or water (freeze/maelstrom) ele and you can breeze right through. Runing that they'd be lucky to get a spell off to do any damage...

My group ran and away the effigies just stopped.
Then we went around them and killed the dudes.

We pulled the effigies out with a bow, they can be lured on their own, did the same with the charr warriors and the caster with them.
Only then did we go for the boss who only had his ele buddies with him then. SF, 2 warriors and interrupt ranger did the rest

Yeah you can ride that tank and zone to different map. As for the gwen's master quest, I was stupid enough to have the smell like titan quest on as well. I still did it with -33dp but will take sometime, there's a res point nearby. You'll need to pull the mob very carefully and keep an eye out for 2 of the flame djinn gangs, they're fast and hit really hard, be ready to run to the safe place. Bring winter as well it will help, SF is not that good in that area or against the big burning guy.
Not impossible to do, it is a master quest for a reason. The reward is well worth it imo.

You can go around the western edge and kill the Flowstones one or two at a time. If the Flame Djinn boss shows up while you're fighting them, run for one of the forest exits and they break off pursuit quite quickly. Once you've got all the flowstones on the western side gone, wait for the Djinn boss to show up again. Pick off his minions one at a time, save him for last. Make sure you call target on each one of them as you fight them, so your henchies attack the right one. Two good hero monk builds should be able to keep you alive through the Searing Flames, just stay away from the trees that are actually on fire. Once you've gotten that boss down, start picking off the bands of Charr that are wandering around; most of them are groups of 4 at most. Once the area is pretty clear, THEN go after the Effigy and the level 24 boss next to it. My group took out the level 24 first, he goes down faster and that reduces the amount of damage you're taking. Then take down the Effigy. It takes a while, he has an insane amount of HP, and I think he causes AoE burning like some of the Titans do. His physical attacks are brutal and will kill a character with high DP in a single hit. Just keep at him and eventually you'll take him down.
The only tricks required here are good drawing and aggro management. Take it slow. Clear out the whole area where you intend to fight first. You'll bring it down, though not without a few deaths.

How do you mount the siege thing? I'm right next to the devourer catapult but when I click, it just hisses at me. How do you mount it?
Edit: Never mind I was looking at the wrong one. lol

I suspect the people that find this quest hard are those who go Hero/Hench and have to bring Gwen, because frankly, Gwen ain't that good. No mesmer hero is that good, and I don't care what build you use on her... the class isn't well suited to the PvE environment with a hero AI running it. So, you're left with 1 person, 2.5 heroes and 4 dumbos.
I did exactly that and since for some reason Gwen's AI seems very weird to me I had to turn her into a bizarre ele-tank. I ran as an MM myself (yes... it does work, despite the elementals being non-fleshy.) I used Zhed as a Water Ward/Freeze ele, and a hero Bonder (and oh how I hate microing...). I brought Earth hench, Blood hench, two healers. I would lie if I said it was easy, but it was manageable.

Hrm. It took me a good 30-40 minutes, but I did the Titan (easy quest) and Gwen's quest rather easily. Hell I didn't even wipe fighting the SF boss. Remember SF is a horrible skill, Savannah's Heat works much better 85% of the time monsters don't even move out of it, and when they do they're not attacking you so you won't have to worry. Aslo if your main is a ranger, just bring BHA or Choking Gas.
Oh yeah I had to bring Gwen, I had her setup as E-Surge with power leak and power spike..did pretty well actually. The only problem was, heroes wait 3 seconds to move out of Savannah's and that takes them to down to about 30% health..

The hostile siege devourer at the edge of the plains (not Rocktail, west of him) can be ridden. Fight it until it turns friendly, then click on it and choose to climb on.

I find exactly the opposite, Gwen as an interrupt dom mesmer with Power Block is quite effective.
