GW:EN view from a 2 years player

Even if I may find some stuff to easy, and that I'm not completely happy about the HoM, I still find it worth playing.
-The story line continues and fills some missing links in a brilliant way.
I always enjoyed the way anet wrote the GW lore.
Even the movie clips are better.
-Length of gameplay is ok, I try to take as many of the quests besides primary as I can find. Which lengthens the gameplay, and allows me to enjoy the full story line. I did all Norn and Ebon Vanguard things I could find, but i know there are a few that I need to find via wiki.
-Graphics are stunning, new effects on spells and enviroment just looks nice.
I only know one online rpg that is close to it, and still not the same.
-Reputation system, doesn't require hour-less grind, r4 is easy done with primary+side quests, and the buffs you get work out nice.
-Armors, I love the look of 3 of the new sets, so might go for some of them in time. And its doesn't require more to get them then it does in the campaigns.
-Weapons, I got a few with new nice skins.
-In game music, some prophecies pieces, which fit well, and some nice new pieces which I enjoy listening to while playing.
Actually I listen to metal mostly, but when playing I prefer the game music.
-Drops, got enough so that I could afford putting my necro in vabian set.
Everything bought from the rare/material traders.
-New Heroes, they look good
-Was cheaper then I exspected.
So all in all I'm happy with GW:EN

Sounds like a fanboi response to the complaints.
As someone who has played since release of GW (period):
new armors are alright, but lack detail
hero armors are hard to get...I still dont know where to get the armor remnants...and they look better than options for me! Oooook.
gold drops are not on par with the level of the areas. This is supposed to be a continuation of all three campaigns...thus the drops should be as good as or better than those in the final stages of those campaigns.
I agree with the heroes. I enjoy having them...and find them better looking in all respects than Nightfall heroes.
the changes in pitch, tempo and volume of music between fights is erratic and get annoying...although the effect is appreciated.
I love the addition of personality into the henchmen. I also love the focus on the hero more than the NPC's in the cutscenes. I finally feel like I'm running the show, rather than being some dumbazz idiot with a weapon following the leader and always being told what to do. Scrying pool, anyone?
NPCs are well done...voice acting is top notch and everything flows. Far cry from factions...those cutscenes were annoying even the first time I saw them.
I'll be happy with GW:EN when all the bugs are worked out, and the loot is scaled according to what is expected.
Tweaks to the rep points need to happen. After rank 4 it's all grind. I've cleared most of the map and done alot of the quests and I'm still only at rank 3 or 4 in all of them.

Umm, wtf? Is there some crime in OCCASIONALY a player expresses their likes about GW:EN? I mean c'mon! We can't have anything positive here, can we? Must be 100% whine policy here that I was unaware of, because that's all I bloody see...
I'm with the op, I am quite happy with GW:EN and couldn't really care less about all the whiners, because while they whine on here, I'm ingame getting their drops =oP

Please do tell us where you getting all these drops at?? Lol, cuz I sure in the hell ain't getting any! hahahah. I do applaud the originator of this thread. They stated their opinion very nicely and supported it. They DID NOT simply Flame another person with an opposing opinion. Actually the only people here that I think are a waste of bandwidth are the ones that do nothing but make a post complaining about Fanboyz and Whiners. Sure I'v used the term Fanboyz when referring to the flamers... But I don't just post a reply that does nothing but flame Fanboyz or Whiners PS. I really don't see anyone bad-mouthing the originator of this thread... so I guess you just couldn't resist an opportunity to flame the whiners. Lets not forget these forums are everyones conduit to Anet not just the Fanboyz and not just the Whiners.

actually I've had a good amount of Gold drops. Problem is, only 2 of them were max damage, and the stats sucked.
P.S. I like GW:EN also, but I was expecting a bit more.

P.S. I like GW:EN also, but I was expecting a bit more. You got it, grind for titles.
Please remember...
I must not GRIND. GRIND is the mind-killer. GRIND is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my GRIND... I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

Because, of course, anyone who says anything even remotely positive, must be a fanboy. That must mean you're a troll for saying something negative.
Personally, I've been playing GW since it was first released, and I have very few problems with GW:EN. If you personally don't like things, that's your problem, but not everyone feels the same way. Frankly, I love most of the new armour and could care less what anyone else has to say about it.

-Tyler Durden Really? I don't see any other threads about '2 year players ' view of GWEN. Are you a 2 year player?
Its an interesting demographic to me, as I am also a two year play, but I don't own the game. Maybe this will show me that I should own it.

Same here, I was expecting to pay the price of a full retail game, was pleasantly surprised when it only cost me about £14 sterling (R180.00).
Back on topic, yea I love EOtN a lot too. I'm having a blast atm, but agree there are a few bugs that needs ironing out
*goes to find bug iron*

I have made some posts that may seem that I disapprove of GW:EN and if I gave that impression I am truly sorry for that, cause it is 100% untrue...
Guild Wars Eye of the North gets a 4/5 from me, and with a few minor revisions that I fully expect will happen eventually... (from past experience) it will quickly get a 5/5...
GW:EN is a very fulfilling and enjoyable Expansion to the GW franchise. The price was just right, and the expansion of the existing world was well planned...
There is more then enough for that aging character that was looking for something new to do in the game. It also serves as a way to draw in the community back to its roots in Prophecies to RELIVE our history so to speak, because of new events referencing material we have long since moved on from... The Upcoming Bonus missions I think will do this even more and fulfill that lore connection many of the PvE players crave.
GW:EN also closes lore holes, and opens new ones for future expansions, and GW2 lore in the distant future. As well as providing interesting optional alternatives for new armor and weapon skins. Even if some of them are reskins... (What isnt?)
As to the HoM. I think we all have accepted, (even anet) that there are SOME thigns that need tweaked.. to make them more player friendly. In many ways players felt cheated as achievements they have worked very hard on up to this point are ignored for only the heavily grind titles, or redos of very hard tasks to achieve a title after the inception of HoM, rather then retroactive... However with time this will become irrelevant. The preview feedback has already resulted in many more additions to the HoM that were 100% due to players requests and opinions.
Other things in HoM even anet says yes they think it will be tweaked a little but they do not want to change the fundamentals of the HoM purpose in the doing of it. So yea it will take time. It will happen someday. How and what that may be is unknown at this time, even to the Anet reps. And thats fine. We as a community know Anet is not only comprised of developers, but of players as well... And that they too know of our frustration when off reading our little rants on this or that... The constructive feed back is always welcomed. The blow ups may be as well, but may not be as well received...
Acceptance comes with habit and playing. Some see the HoM as something that should stand for PAST achievements, others feel it should be something for future achievements to strive for... Over time it will not matter either way, as what gets in there will get in there by playing the game... And that is the point after all.
