Guild Wars freezes on login

Hi, the other day (Sept. 5th), an update for GW was downloaded when I launched the game. As soon as I hit enter after entering my password, the game freezes. I can move the mouse, and the music still plays, but the screen won't change! I can hit ctrl+alt+del to close it(says not responding), but when I launch GW again and it freezes, I have to restart cause nothing will show up, I can't Alt-Tab, Windows key, Windows key-M, or ctrl-alt-del out of the screen. The task manager will pop up, but it's invisible on the GW login screen, cause my mouse will change to the default mouse instead of the GW mouse when I move it over where the Task Manager would be...

My GW was absolutly fine the day before, but I think this update might have something to do with it...

Anyone know the problem? Any help is appreciated

Am I going to have to reinstall? because I really wanna lvl up my Rit during the Triple XP weekend

I have no clue. I had trouble logging in awhile ago when I had free time and promptly gave up. However, I've yet to see other people talk about log in issues so it may be just me since mine doesn't freeze and instead gives an error code or just the connecting.... <cancel> dialogue.

i have a wierd thing today.......

after the latest update, when i log on GW, i cant even see the screen!~
yestoday, and all the time before that GW was runing fine, almost no lag even.

my PC is relatevely new (about 1 year old) with adual core processor, i am using nVIDIA GeForce 6200, and have 2 gig ram. as i said, this started happening only after the 9/7 update.

the best way to describe it would be to post a screenie.



i tried rebooting, i even shut down my firewall, anti virus and all back up programs (not on this screenie, when i took it i was alredy in the "i give up" state of mind but earlier) and it still doing the same thing.

anyone had this before? and how can i fix it?

I would post a screenie of my problem, but posting a screen of a frozen login screen wouldn't do much XD

2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4
1 gig of ram
ATi Radeon 9250/9200 Series AGP vid card (128 meg memory)

I've have the PC for a few years, and it runs anything and everything else I have as fine as ever.

been having the same problem yes2day, i was in Drakkers Lake i think its called looking for a boss, got to the ambush rabbit and then it all froze, pressing m or other buttons still worked (could hear the skills going off or see the cursor change but screen wouldnt update.

DC'd so i wouldnt lose my place and killed gw but then couldnt log back in without the freeze again, had to keep ultra mon closed to play later not sure if that was causing the problem or not but everything was fine until the update yes2day, will see how it goes today.
