Recently I've been running through Drakkar's, using the Norn shrines to get the bonuses and farm reputation points, and I'm really enjoying it. I thought I'd find it a grind but it just seems really fun.
So, I had a thought last night and this is it.
Competitive PvE - Clearout
Two teams are placed in seperate versions of the same map, say Drakkar's. They then have 30 minutes to farm for as much reputation as they can possibly get. Whilst the bonuses would be randomly chosen, each team would get the same bonuses in the same order.
Each time the enemy team hits a milestone, a warning would flash up on your screen indicating this (25 kills, rank up, etc).
The winning team would get a large boost to their reputation, or if it is maxed, perhaps 1/3rp per point to another faction. The areas would be randomly chosen from a central hub.
Essentially it would be just a way of making what some people percieve as a "grind" to get the faction points a little more exciting. The losing team doesn't as such "lose" anything, but the winning team gains something.
I think it'd be fun. The only problem I can see is people using ultra-specialised farming builds and taking it really seriously, whereas I just percieve it as a casual bit of fun. I don't know what to do about that, but still, I think it could work.
