I partly agree and partly disagree... I think some people are forgetting that HoM features will be used in GW2 and we don't have much of an idea about how that'll happen. Maybe we'll all go /doh when we find out how things work later. ^^'
Plus, won't we be able to pass on our 'legacy' to the children/grandchildren/greatgrandchildren of our characters? It'd be strange if the HoM is account-based then, as then you couldn't pass things on to offspring of a specific character.
I'm probably biased as I have one main character though... But here's my opinion:

- Only the black moa, black widow, and phoenix pets are displayed as their own statue and labeled as what they are. All others are displayed as a statue with a wolf, bear, and lynx labeled Animal Companion.
- You can only have 5 statues at a time, but you can't pick exactly which 5 when you rearrange them. It's always random.

I agree on the rearranging part, and I'd like to be able to display my heroes without having to either buy armour parts or to try to get through an elite dungeon I probably won't be able to finish. But HoM IS about prestige and accomplishments rather than just storing whatever you want... And armour remnants are relatively hard to get, aswell as the pets you mentioned. Anyone can run out of an outpost and cap some random creature, getting a black moa or a black widow or phoenix is a bit more difficult (yes, I know some consider getting these easy too.) and it takes more time.

And they all have the same inscription "Strength and Honor, damge +15% while health above 50%) and I don't know that they can be changed. Plus they're gonna be pricey, as they take 5k alone to make, plus 10 onyx gemstones and 10 diamonds. The others are common materials.

I couldn't agree more. I can't count the times I farmed (or tried to farm) greens for my characters. I have quite a collection on my mesmer so I'd love to show them off. There's not much prestige or effort in CRAFTING a weapon, is there? Only the cost. And it's just a very big limit really.

I've seen very few people with that title. Norn/Asura/Agent titles? They only give rep points one at a time for each creature slain. That could take forever...
- PVP-only titles have to be a certain rank (I believe rank 8 for hero, rank 3 for others) before they're displayed at all.

I don't know about this one... Yes, there are some titles that are extremely hard to get, but don't forget there's still a long time before GW2 comes out and that you don't necessarily have to grind for them. My mesmer got 80% explored in Elona just getting to Bone Palace. Quite a few titles just stack up while focussing on other things. Including reputation. Dungeons, taking a character through GW:EN... It might be slower but you don't HAVE to grind unless you're really bored with PvE in general.
I don't PvP much so I'll shush about that...

Sounds like a lot of choices, but the prices are high for some people. And some may be content with just the "low-end" armor.

I have to admit I was slightly annoyed when I remembered my warrior has 1.5k armour instead of 15k... But again, it's about prestige and effort. Most 15k armour requires more effort than just having money, so I'd say this isn't like the Destroyer weapons... Again, I'm biased, my mesmer has tons of prestige armour.

Well this is where the earlier bit comes in, basing the HoM on your account could imbalance the whole point of the HoM in general. And not customising mini-pets could lead to even more imbalancing, you could just borrow them off other people or your other characters and copy them over and over.
So I'm probably one of the few who DON'T think the HoM needs to be 'fixed'. I just think it's a bit early to start demanding huge changes when nobody really knows how the link between your HoM and GW2 will work.
