So my PC is back alive and I have played to past the Searing (Mo/E) and am officially hooked. My noobish question of the day is:

When in a party, how can I tell what buffs/debuffs are on a party member? When I target them I only see the healthbar, even on people I have buffed.

Thanks!

You can't, actually. Unless you've bonded them, little skill icons will show up in your screen, in the bottom right or left corner (I can't remember exactly). If you want to know, ask them to ping it

So unless they tell me there is a problem, I cannot know that I need remove a hex or whatever ?!?!

I have so much to learn...actually I love it because I have been away from the "scene" for awhile

If my PC stays alive give me a week and I will not be so noobish. If only the firewall at work didn't block GuildWiki

No, that's not really true. There are symbols and colors that you can see, just not what the actual skill is that has caused the hex or condition. If they are hexed you'll see a purple down arrow, if they are hexed, and degening because of it, the bar will turn from red to purple. If there is an enchantment on them there will be a yellow up arrow, and if there is a condition there is a brown down arrow, or the bar will turn a sickly color and health will begin to disappear if they're poisoned or diseased. With bleeding the bar turns a pale pink... etc. The problem is that you can't tell how many conditions, hexes or enchantments are on a person at any given time, or what they may be. If you cast RoF and Protective Spirit on the same ally you'll only see one up arrow, and it will stay there until they have no enchantements left on them.

If you're just PvE'ing, you can get a pretty good idea about which hexes will be on party members after a while, since the monsters skill bars usually aren't full and won't change on a different monster of the same level and sub-species. People can always ping what's on them too. Some people will spam your screen with it too >.>. Have fun
