Bear Club for Men

So what am I missing in this quest? I go in and beat the bear, I get some gold club and the quest tells me to talk to oldrun again...I do and she has me go in and beat the bear again...

I seriously think I'm missing something.

you have to use the club to kill the bear--no other weapon.

oic. Harsh for a ranger but i guess the skill you get doesn't have too many ranger applications either. Thanks.

However, you can use other skills etc (such as apply poison) to assist you in killing the bear, just make sure you're wielding the club when the bear dies (ie make sure the killing blow is done with the club)

lmao If I hadn't seen it on the quest list, I would've thought the same thing.

you only need to be holding the club when the bear dies, i used the ursan blessing to kill it whilst holding the club as my warrior, so you can use any spells whilst you hold the club as your weapon, touch ranger?

I am having issues with this quest on my ele. I can get the bear to 0 or near 0 hp. I can deal him a 130pt dmg blow at that point and he doesn't die. I have tried this many times with the same result. I have also abandoned the quest and retaken it and get the same result. I am holding the club throughout the quest. Am I missing something here?
