Yes, I used the search function, but I surprisngly didnt find anything. Ive been looking for the 5 bog skale fins for the black moa chick, and I cant find them anywhere! I have taken to killing the group right outside Fisherman's haven, where the is 4-6 bog skales. Ive killed the group several times and not a single fin has dropped.... Anywhere where these things drop well?

presear a char to get them, then transfer them to your storage go back to your main char and then use them.

go north from fisherman's strand, through the stingray strand map, to tears of the fallen map. there are tons of them there.

then go sw to twin serpent lakes map. more there.

might take a clear of both maps to get all five fins.

im telling you, start a new char in presear go kill some bog skales save the fins do the secondary prof quest, then the final quest let rurik kill all the grawls and the char than pay for a storage with the new character, put the skale fins in it then delete the character, take the fins out with the main character you're trying to get the black moa with and then voila you are done less pain and anguish than clearing whole maps.

This is such a pain in the ass way of doing it. Like I said above if you take a char that has not been to GWEN yet right outside LA and to the right there are tons of lvl 11s that you can solo easy. No need to go and create a char do a quest have rurik kill grawls pay for storage transfer etc. Too much work when they are right there.

Edit: Besides they drop Skale Fins in pre not Bog Skale Fins. theres a difference

Pre farming is very, VERY bad advice, Pre skales drop different scales, i wonder if Wilkon Dawes ever did that himself....

Anyway, even if you were to gwen already, bog skales are still outside la, they are just a bit north from place they would appear normally. You can easily farm those.

They are there yes but no where even close to how many there are on a char that hasnt been to gwen. Which is why I said go on one that hasnt gone there yet.

That's where I go. North of Riverside Province, through Twinsnake or something and to the Tears of the Fallen.

They are higher lvl there and I hear alot of people say they go there but never get anything.

I go outside LA takes me about 10 minutes to get enough skale fins for 2 moas. (10 fins)

i farmed mine outside of gates of kryta... as a N/R pet master MM i was able to solo there and get 7 fins in 2 trips (3 the first time, 4 the second.) but that was clearing out all the groups with bog skales - you have to fight through a few groups of myrgargoyles to get to em)

I solo-farmed them in the swamp between Lion's Arch and Scoundrel's Rise on my warrior with no difficulty. My warrior had been to GW:EN in the preview. I had to rezone from Scoundrel's to North Kryta Province to pick up my last Bog Skale Fin.

Collector drops are scaled, aren't they? If this includes the fins, then why solo??

If they are scaled, just bring a full party. If not, ignore this post/correct me.

Yes, they are loot scaled. Yes, soloing makes no sense at all.

All you really need is to bring some upfront damage and then one or two mm heroes.

Stuff then drops very fast in such low level areas.

those aren't bog skale fins, they're just skale fins, and don't count.

Outside LA, outside riverside province. Hell, you may even get all 5 on the way to the collector.

Easiest way is out side LA head to North Kryta Providence, just out side of the portal to Scoundrel's Rise is the largest group of low level bog skales.

Kill the group and keep rezoning untill you have 5. The other day I farmed 20 in like less then half an hour!

I suggest farming with heroes (4 player party) or solo outside of Fisherman's Haven.

@Zeek Aran and zwei2stein

Yes, I realise they are not exempt from loot scaling, thank you. But you still get more drops solo if you kill one at a time. If you can do so efficiently, like I did, then it balances out. Meaning, it would take the same amount of time to collect drops in a full party with 1/6 drops as it did for me to collect them solo. I just preferred to solo.

Naturally, it's easier to blow them up in a full party, or with 2-3 heroes, but I have a personal vendetta against all races of Skale from my time spent in the Fissure of Woe. Personally, I reccommend taking a party because the Bog Skale Fins are loot-scaled, and most players will kill stuff faster that way.
