Thought it might be a good weekend to work on a survivor character, so I tested on a few secondary profession quests in Ascalon, One I had already completed and just needed to collect the reward and another I did a few minutes ago. Neither got me triple XP.
It's 22.20 here in the U.K so I'm assuming it's started - anyone confirm?
Edit - Just re-read the blurb - Missions only - wow that's lousy, should be quests as well.

...if you actually take the time to read it you will find you only get triple xp from missions in tyria, cantha, and elona, and you get the triple xp on primary quests from eye of the north

yeah, my guess is they may be testing it for a permanent change. triple xp on missions won't help most people already playing, but it would speed up leveling new chars in the future if you made more or for new players.

I was thinking of taking a character or two to do the desert quests ending with the Augury Rock mission... ie 20 sec to 150,000xp. (triple xp for a 50000xp mission)

Ah forget it, you don't even get extra xp from mobs. I'm not complaining, I just don't like it because I really wanted to get my survivor up this weekend. Oh well, I'll do that later...

Still not working for me in GW:EN. Only getting standard rewards for PRIMARY GW:EN QUESTS. I'm fairly certain I got triple exp on arborstone and boreas, but still primary quests in GW:EN are not giving proper exp.

NOT working in Gwen, just finished multiple primary quests standard xp only. not to mention that the game has been out over a week, and only 1 update that fixed a few things, with numerous bugs still remaining all over. pathetic really.

Works for me. The Nornbear quest description states 7.5k in my log (it's normally 2.5k). Even if they nerfed the reputation gain, 7.5k XP in 15 minutes ain't bad. 
Also, be sure you check with *repeatable* EotN primary quests, the kind you can retake at the Scrying Pool. Those are the only ones affected, I believe. It's too bad you can't get the reward on subsequent trips through a mission like you can for the EotN quests, though (Tihark Orchard hard mode was the easiest XP ever).
