Mend Condition vs. Mend Ailment

I'm not quite sure why many monks use Mend Ailemnt over Mend Condition. I haven't really tried either but from reading up on the skills it looks to me that Mend Condition has a greater chance at healing your ally. How can you assume that you're party will have more than one condition or any at all?

you can tell if they have at least one condition because there life bar is a different color if they are bleeding. And there is a down triangle on it for other condidtions.

Mend Condition is other ally only (for some odd reason). Mend Ailment is not. When something like Deep Wound or Cripple pops up on you, you want it off NOW instead of fiddling around with Contemplation of Purity or something.

Generally if you have two or more players with condition removal, you should think about bringing mend condition on both. If you're running a boon prot, ailment should heal for enough with boon. It's a choice you have to make: rely on someone else to remove your life threatening condition, or someone else?
Mend condition is other ally, or else there would be no reason to take mend ailment, because condition is a sure thing, while ailment only really shines when yiu have a stack of conditions on you.

Since you only remove ONE condition in either case, it makes sense to use ailment.

You could always use draw conditions but I prefer mend ailment.Drw Conditions is good for PvP mend ailment can't get rid of Necro Spells only rotting flesh.

Mmm? This doesn't make sense. Draw conditions doesn't get rid of hexes either, so I don't see why you are mentioning that at all. It also has the nasty side effect that while it treats all of the conditions from the ally, it gives them all to you. Great if you're N/Mo with Plague Signet, I supppose. If you want to use a draw conditions type build, you might as well go all out and use Martyr instead.

The bonus is applied AFTER a condition is removed. If you have one condition on, and you use Mend Ailment, the one condition will be removed and you will get no heal bonus. If you have three conditions on you, Mend Ailment will remove one, and give you TWO sets of the bonus heal.
Mend Condition, if it removes a condition, will give you the bonus heal. So condition gives the bonus heal 100% of the time, while Ailment is more conditional.
But the ability to remove conditions on yourself is a big advantage of ailment, and is why it's more popular.
