I never seem to get it till I've cleared about half a map, and its pretty annoying.
Anyways else find this is the case? If so A.net need to make rank upgrades much more common.
Is it just me, or are Rep Rank upgrades very uncommon?

I always read people saying, get rank 4 or whatever quickly as possible, but how? Its a random reward when your've killed a lot of monsters!

Really? It's random and I don't always get it, but I rarely have trouble getting boosted ranks when I'm actually trying for them.

Btw, if you talked ot shrines once you have 25 kills, sometimes you get the rank boost instead of like 20 points. I do that, and I reach rank 5 when I'm clearing easily. That > 140 points on each shrine.

You get them, but only if you talk to one of the shrine people after clearing half of the map usually.

lol - rank upgrades are very easy to get - I usually get one just as I kill the last thing on the map - either that or a rage bonus with no enemies in sight.

er... I am aware of that, I alwayd do, most the time I get 20 or 40, etc.. bonus, no rank upgrade.

Well the earliest you can get it is 50 kills, but i also find it quite uncommon i always get it when i finish i zone .

Not uncommon, I get it all the time, though it is completely random. Maybe you're just bad luck with it.

I wish the rank upgrades and rampage bonuses were slightly more common and the armor and boss bonuses less common. The latter are almost always completely wasted in my experience.

Well, I've hit 8000 Norn Rep from doing nothing but primary quests, so unless you're all talking about completely clearing an area rather than just farming for points I think that the system works.

The rank ups should not be random.
Luck should not be the point between characters getting points.
They should give always rank 2 at 50 kills, rank 3 at 100 and rank 4 at 150.
Then, keep the other bonuses random.

That what it should be like ideally, but maybe I do have bad luck? But still it I found it strange how people say "Oh getting to rank 4 is easy"... no it isn't

rank 3 seems relatively esay on a large enough map, say 250 foes, however 4 is very difficult. rank 2 is nigh on impossible in a 150 never mind rank 4

It's all random. Sometimes I get rank 4 early, sometimes I get it when there are 10 enemies left on the map. Remember to talk to the priests at all the res shrines, they offer either free points or a rank upgrade.

Like everyone else has said, it's all random, but there is a possibility of getting higher ranks very soon if you continue to grind an area. Just like with UW runs, getting reputation points is a hit or miss. Sometimes you get a grand 4,000 and other times you get 2,000 instead.
In fact, the bonuses are so random, sometimes I end up getting two or three boss bounties when I've already killed all of the bosses. :P

I agree with Mithran Arkanere, i don't like the armor/health bonusses and i'd like the rank upgrades to come systematically.

When I cleared Varajar Fells I managed to get rank 2 at 50 kills once and up to rank 4 by 300 kills.
Luckilly there are 425 monsters on that map so I made quite a few points. I should be a little less random, I seem to get rampages a lot of the time and boss hunts right after I just killed one.
Having a set system though would make achieving the titles easier, and that might go against Anets idea. Not that they want more grind, rather they wish us to take our time getting to the higher lvls of these titles.

Depending on how many creatures are in the area is when you go to a shine. Sometimes it's 50 and sometimes it's 75. Know the area you're in then decide when to go to a shrine.

You sometimes get a rank boost after killing enemies, sometimes you need to go to a shrine and when you can get it either way is random. Sometimes you get the first boost at 50, sometimes it's way over 100.
That's my biggest complaint about the new rank systems... it is that they are too random instead of being able to get a boost every 25 kills automatically (as an example).

My general rule for grinding out in the open is talk to a shrine member once every 25 kills. That way, I get at least rank 3-4 for grinding.
