Scions Of Carver [SCAR]

R/

Hello. With the amount of activity in this sub forum, I decided I would add in my $.02 and share some hero builds and combinations that I have found effective so that others might help me get better, and I can help those having troubles.

Normal Setup
Use- General PvE and entering areas where the threat is unknown

Invincible MM (N/D)
Death Magic- 16 (12+1+3)
Soul Reaping- 10
Earth Prayers- 8
[skill]animate bone horror[/skill][skill]animate bone fiend[/skill][skill]animate shambling horror[/skill][skill]blood of the master[/skill][skill]dark bond[/skill][skill]infuse condition[/skill][skill]mystic regeneration[/skill][skill]aura of the lich[/skill]
This MM is able to keep up a full 10 minions with little hp sacrifice. Any damage taken is healed quickly and reduced a ton, while conditions are non-existent. In hard mode and most high end areas it is easier to simply make more minions than worry about keeping old ones alive, which this build does effectively.

Fire Spammer (E/Me)
Fire Magic- 16 (12+1+3)
Energy Storage- 12 (10+2)
Inspiration Magic-8
[skill]Searing Flames[/skill][skill]Glowing Gaze[/skill][skill]Glyph Of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Fireball[/skill][skill]Mark Of Rodgort[/skill][skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Fire Attunement[/skill]
Idea Taken from Zinger's builds, this Ele keeps energy very high with a large wall of burning foes. Generally never used without the following paragon in the party

Angelic Bonder (P/W)
Leadership- 16 (12+1+3)
Motivation- 11 (10+1)
Spear Mastery- 9 (8+1)
Tactics- 2
[skill]Glowing Signet[/skill][skill]Signet of synergy[/skill][skill]"They're on fire!"[/skill][skill]ballad of restoration[/skill][skill]aria of restoration[/skill][skill]"watch yourself!"[/skill][skill]angelic bond[/skill][skill]signet of return[/skill]
Master at mitigating damage and making the monk's job a little easier. This para is almost always in my party. If no SF eles are present, "Theyre on fire" Is taken out for mending refrain

That is my normal 3 hero setup when I am entering a new area or do not know exactly what I will face. This build provides general pressure and lots of defense; perfect for torment areas or defense missions. Just watch that the paragon doesn't kill himself with too many bonds.

Other Builds
The following builds are rarely used in special combinations and are useful almost anywhere

Interrupt Bot (Me/Mo)
Domination Magic- 16 (12+1+3)
Fast Casting- 10 (9+1)
Inspiration Magic- 9
[skill]Hex Eater Vortex[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Diversion[/skill][skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill][skill]Cry of frustration[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Resurrection chant[/skill]
This mesmer was in every party I used during the shiverpeak section of Gw:en. Since there were so many eles, this mesmer effectively shutdown a large majority of the damage that would have otherwise hurt my party quite badly. I'm sure this build can use lots of improvement.

FoC Curses Necromancer
Curses- 16(12+1+3)
Soul Reaping- 9
Inspiration Magic- 9
[skill]Enfeebling blood[/skill][skill]feast of corruption[/skill][skill]Suffering[/skill][skill]parasitic bond[/skill][skill]shadow of fear[/skill][skill]leech signet[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Used when there either arent corpses or enough of them to warrant a minion master

Ebon Dust Dervish
Scythe Mastery- 9
Earth Prayers- 15 (12+1+2)
Mysticism- 9
[skill]Conviction[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]mystic vigor[/skill][skill]armor of sanctity[/skill][skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Ebon Scythe is a must. Better tank than a warrior in areas without enchantment removal. I used this dervish mostly in vanquishing ascalon

Backbreaker Warrior
Hammer Mastery- 16 (12+1+3)
Strength- 12
Tactics -3
[skill]Backbreaker[/skill][skill]Crushing Blow[/skill][skill]Counter Blow[/skill][skill]Bull's Strike[/skill][skill]"For great justice!"[/skill][skill]flail[/skill][skill]lion's comfort[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
General Use Everywhere. Furious Hammer recommended

Sword Tank
Swordsmanship- 16 (12+1+3)
Strength- 6
Tactics- 11
[skill]Deadly Riposte[/skill][skill]Soldier's Strike[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]Dragon Slash[/skill][skill]Bonetti's Defense[/skill][skill]"Watch yourself!"[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Resurrection signet[/skill]
Consider using with team build above instead of minion master

The following Ritualist builds are almost always used together for maximum DPS in hard mode missions. Patience is required when running them. Missions with big bosses at the end (imperial sanctum or gate of madness) benefit most from these as they tend to drop foes quickly.

Defensive Ritualist (Rt/E)
Communing- 15 (11+1+3)
Channeling Magic- 11 (10+1)
Spawning Power- 10 (consider lowering channeling to boost this to 12)
[skill]Offering Of Spirit[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser energy[/skill][skill]Shelter[/skill][skill]Union[/skill][skill]displacement[/skill][skill]disenchantment[/skill][skill]dissonance[/skill][skill]painful bond[/skill]
Best used by setting up spirits before battle

Offensive Ritualist (Rt/any)
communing- 13 (11+2)
Channeling Magic- 16 (12+1+3)
spawning power- 6
[skill]Mighty was vorizun[/skill][skill]caretaker's charge[/skill][skill]essence strike[/skill][skill]bloodsong[/skill][skill]pain[/skill][skill]anguish[/skill][skill]shadowsong[/skill][skill]painful bond[/skill]
Always set up before aggroing and cast painful bond asap. Caretaker's charge allows for good health recovery and essence strike + charge is good energy management.

Monks
My monk builds are NOT that great, I normally use henchman healers because they tend to seemingly have an infinite supply of energy. BUT in the few cases that I must use a monk hero, they run these builds:

Glimmer Healer (Mo/Me)
Healing Prayers- 16 (12+1+3)
Divine Favor- 10
Inspiration Magic- 8
[skill]Glimmer of Light[/skill][skill]Orison of healing[/skill][skill]Healing touch[/skill][skill]signet of rejuvenation[/skill][skill]dismiss condition[/skill][skill]watchful healing[/skill][skill]channeling[/skill][skill]resurrection chant[/skill]
Lots of 5e skills with good heals. when used with other hero builds posted here, the monk shouldnt have to heal too much. Though, inevitably, they will run out of energy. I gave the monk channeling since AI controlled healers tend to run right into the middle of the fight, at least then he has enough energy to keep his stupid butt alive. I usually run Dunkoro as a healer monk, I can tell little difference between him and Tahlkora at healing or Protection, so I will not get into the debate here.

SoR Protection
Protection Prayers- 16 (12+1+3)
Divine Favor- 12
[skill]Guardian[/skill][skill]Reversal of fortune[/skill][skill]Shield of regeneration[/skill][skill]protective spirit[/skill][skill]watchful healing[/skill][skill]dismiss condition[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill][skill]aegis[/skill]
In hex heavy areas, replace SoR with divert hexes. In melee heavy areas, you can replace it with SoD and take [skill]divine spirit[/skill] instead of protective spirit

And there you have my all of my favorite hero builds. what you run yourself will greatly affect any changes you make to the builds. Myself, I ran a glass arrows ranger through out all of nightfall and Gw:en, which is not greatly influential to the builds. If your an ele, go Sf with an SF hero or two and the paragon build posted above, a necro could run SS with the FoC spiker, or vice versa (just remember heroes don't echo right)

I am always looking to improve the builds they run, so if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to pm me in game, my character name is to the left.

Some nice builds, though some have been around forever. The MM is just an heir of the master...

And FoC when you could be taking SV or SS? Not sure I'd do that. your sword warr lacks deepwound and so does your dervish. I'd suggest going D/N and taking plague touch. You need no attrib points and you can spam wearying strike for DW every 6 secs or so. It'll make killing alot quicker and the derv won't have to tank as much. And I'm not sure I'd leave irresistable blow out of a hammer build. Especially if I'm taking bulls instead, and it's for general pve. And I reckon splinter weap is to good to not take if you've got points in channeling. Good even if the AI puts it on wands. Anyway, just some thoughts.

I'd change your MM to N/Mo and instead of BoTm bring Death Nova and slot in Aegis at 9 prot. Even prot spirit if you want to micro it.

How did you make the defensive ritualist work? Glyph of Lesser Energy doesn't affect rituals, does it? Also, I wasn't able to get Razah to use Offering of Spirit when it became available.

But it does mean Painful bond can be cast for free. But I'd rather put something else in there instead.
