There are many builds for N/W in the builds thread as there are many dicsussions on N/W as a combo and builds in threads here. Have you searched these areas yet?

Necromancers do not have good armor in general, thus not really advisable. However, some people have been able to make it work as a Meleemancer and have had a lot of fun with them.

I do not have a N/W, but I would suggest that you search for the N/W builds.

It would help if we knew if you'd just started out playing GW, what level you are, if you have any previous characters, etc.

Well... Welcome to Guild Wars!

Necromancers, just like many spellcasters in any game, have weak armor and cannot take a beating from a melee profession (like the warrior).

Therefore, if you wish to go into the fray with your Necromancer, you will need some defenses. [skill]"watch yourself!"[/skill] or [skill]price of failure[/skill] will help you against melee monsters.

[skill]enfeeble[/skill] and [skill]insidious parasite[/skill] work well together as well.

In case you just started playing what you should know is that the N/W combination isn't very good. It's one of the combinations that has the least synergy. However you can always change secondary after reaching level 20.

I would forget I had a secondary if I were you and focus on my primary.
