Sword or Axe?

I'm currently wielding a Sskai's Sword but I'm debating whether i should transfer to Axe? If i do, which is the best Axe to get, and if i stay with sword, what's the best sword i should get.

there is no "best" sword or axe. it depends on your build and the situation.

Read wiki or use search (if it ever frickin works for you), go sword if you really need opinions.

there is usually no best, but in PvE axes are better than swords because of cyclone axe and triple chop.

unless you spam Dragon Slash with a sword 27 times in 20 seconds on a boss :P

Try both and see which you like better.

If it's PvE Axes are ftw imo.

PvP... They all have strengths weaknesses. Sword has Cripslash, Axe has Eviscerate.

The other posters said it. Try each and see what you like. Consider changing from one to the other to meet particular circumstances. As far as which sword or axe is best - well, the skins are just for looks, it's the stats that matter. And different mods shine based on the mission or mob.

All that said, I'll get subjective now. I have played since the beginning - wiith more time spent as a warrior than any other character - and I honestly think that if I could just have one weapon from now on, to meet every circumstance it would be an axe. Like I said, this is subjective - I offer no proof because there is none - it's just that I live longer and kill better with an axe. This holds true in PVP and PVE for me.

I'd have both. Swords and Axes are meant to be changed out for fun.

For good swords or axes, anything 20/20 sundering and max stats should be fine.

If you want the leet axe, go with a chaos axe.

Have some variation in your gameplay, get a sword and an axe and omg a hammer.
I dont get ppl that play the same build all thru the game.. yawn.

Lol. Yeah, don't forget hammers. They work pretty dang well too. Just because something is "unpopular" doesn't mean it doesn't work (water eles, mesmers, curses necros using an elite besides SS).

20/20 is the most overrated prefix component in game. Sure it has its uses, but compared to (amongst others) zealous (best energy management) and vamp (highest DPS) it fails considerably, imo.

I guess w/e works for you, but try not to listen to the majority of ignorance that claim only 20/20 +30 is perfect and if you run less you're inferior... honestly, there are no words

Sword PvE; Axe PvP.

Sever Artery + Final Thrust in PvE are two of my favourite skills. Pair sever artery with Necrosis (PvE only) = very nice dmg output. The sever/gash/final combination is also very cool for bosses.

I've just recently started using swords again (damn you Sephis sword skin! D: ) and Dragon Slash with FGJ works well together. 10% Furious and +30 is what I'm using atm (spamming armor ignoring (+XX damage) skills more often is way better than 20/20 Sundering).

I'm personally a fan of swords. I've used both and just ended up liking the skill line for swords better. Both were modded the same though, Vampiric (weapon) of Defense.
