Hi there. There used to be a dye combination posted on GuildWiki for a "blood" red color that fit splendidly on female Elite Necrotic Armor. Sadly, the dye combination has been removed and I have a character that just so happens to have purchase a new set of Elite Necrotic boots to complete her set. Does anyone remember that dye combination? I don't recall the whole combination, but if I am not mistaken it was something like Red+Silver+???, though I could be completely wrong. I have tried several combinations in the dye preview screen and nothing seems to match the rest of my armor which I dyed a very long time ago. If anyone has any recollection of the combination I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Here is a picture of the other pieces I have which are dye with the color combination I am looking for.

Do you remember if it was dyed before the dye update or after?
That really changed the way colors look on armor.

If you mean did I dye it before they added the 'dye preview' window update, then yes I did do they dying in the picture prior to the update.

The HoM colours your armor according to the chest piece.
Well, that's what I heard anyway.
But I also heard pre-update dyes don't work properly in HoM.

I'm not sure that it's-colored-according-to-chestpiece-and-can't-be-changed anecdote is entirely correct.
Whenever I enter my HOM, the armors are changed to the color of the set I am currently wearing.

If you dyed it "a long time ago" then sadly you wont ever match the color as they "updated" the dyes and they do not look or mix the same anymore.

same thing happened to my ranger I bought 3 of the 4 fow pieces for him dyed them a red + black combo, then the update came out. I had to redye everything because the combo I used before didn't produce the same color anymore.

It's a shame, the new black looks sooo ugly.

It was: blue+green+purple+dye remover
and yes it's a shame that we can't recreate it anymore

The whole dye mixing system got severely screwed with the Nightfall release, the only good thing we got out of it was the preview window. Lots and lots of old colors and combinations are impossible to replicate since then, all that because of 1 certain flaw in the new mixing system, detailed explaination here:
The new dye mixing system doesn't use the color of the dye as you see it for determining the mixing effect anymore, instead every dye has an alternative color assigned to it which is used for mixing!
To see how it looks like just put 2 of the same dye in the preview window. For example put 2 blacks and you will see why it's impossible to make dark colors anymore (for some armors) - yes, it's that grayish crap thats used for mixing instead of the very dark black you see.
And my favorite example, where adding a Black makes the color *brighter*, see this screenshot: http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9...emixingxl5.jpg
Now I keep asking for an official response on this, I need an answer whether this flaw was intended or it's just a bug not detected because of insufficient testing. And I keep hoping for them finally fixing this...

So I decided to suck it up and try to re-dye. The combination of Red+Red+Brown is reasonably close, though it isn't quite as dark as the old color I had, but it will do for now. I appreciate everyones' input.
