Well, I think the subject does a good job of posing my question. My main character for titles is a mesmer, I'd like the Deep and Urgoz monuments in my Hall but I don't fancy my chances of getting in a group.
I'm faithful to my guild, however we are not that organised and getting 12 people in the same place for 3-4 hours is unlikely to happen, not to mention their lack of experience in these elite areas.
My question is this, is there any way/build that my mesmer could get into an experienced group for The Deep/Urgoz Warren?
I'm a mesmer, how do I complete The Deep?

Cant think of any builds atm but if you explain why your there im sure some tolerant people will take you. It tends to only be the unexperienced or bad players or stick rigidly to the guildwiki build. If they're still not happy remind them that only 1 ele and an ss is needed for the mission, anything else is a bonus. Hope that helps

Yeah, thanks. I feel that with the Sunspear skill my Me/N can easy through out enough damage (armour ignoring too). He's vanquished all of Cantha with H/H so I'm pretty sure I'd be useful in group.

Umm... first to tell you that deep takes only less than 2 hours if you know what you are doing and dont suck. Second, in NM your dmg output will be enough if you will be FC Me/E Nuker, I know this because I had mesmer which I used to complete that with bunch of friends. But you will need to use a guild/friend group. Everyone you find at deep will just think "noob mezmer, cant do anything, we only use pr0 SF 1 2 3 spammerz".

A Mesmer can play different roles indeed a FC ele Me/E but they make a good SS also... even in HM in a good 4-4-4 group you can just use a mesmer build....

Yeah mezmer maybe doesn't have a lot of skills pve asks for but they sure have one heck of a good ability and it's fast casting

my guild takes mesmers sometimes but you wont find a group in a pug
you'll have to go with guildies.
a mesmer can take the place of the SS and Sv if your running 4-4-4 and the mesmer can nuke. mantra of recovery rodgort and what not
but if your trying to find a pug with an open mind.. you might as well give that thought up now.

For the deep I would say switch to Me/N and play the ss/shivers part. Hope that helps.

in Deep noone wants Me,Rt,R,D .. thats sux ..
I have Me 1 year old .. my xp r not low .. i do with my guild team so well as any of other chars ..
but normaly ppl dont trust for mesmer in deep ! thats sux .. on principle they dont use Me .. because there is the team build 3 W 3 Mo 3 E 3 N , there it is ..
if u go 4444 u can use Me , if u go 3333 u cant use Me because it cant clean room in 2-3 min ..
I have wery nice build for the Deep, can kill the spirits , minions , can do the 400dmg 5sec all mobs in same time .. after 10 sec i can do the same .. thats mean in 15 sec i can do the 800dmg for all mobs. as same like Ele or N..
and other thing
if the W play with the EOTN norn Elite skill (bear) for Tank .. this can do any char !!!

you could be a fast casting ele to replace 1 SF ele that'd still work some friendly people would take you if people said mesmers cant replace eles there noobs and dont understand the deep

try a few builds to see what people would like, Fast casting Nuker, fast casting ss hexer, you know have fun with it, Degen of death Mezzy, or a ss,backfire,empthay combo build.
Or the Ursan blessing its great and for the other 7 skills leave them blank or take lota resis LOL and if someone says WTF when you ping it LOL them. for a weapon bring a scythe or daggers for more energy gain and you will keep the blessing up the entire time.

Ursan Blessing...finish EOtN and get the shrine blessings while playinig thru the game normally you should be at least rank 3 then when you finish the game turn in your hero book and get another 20000 pts in norn you will be level 5 at least and then use ursan blessing and anyone who knows anything will take you on their team to the deep

i did the deep as mes/rt - i cant remember my bar atm, but i had splinter weapon, nightmare weapon, inspired ench for the boss, MoR, flesh of my flesh and prolly spirit rift and ancestors rage, not sure atm. u might want to try int dis instead of amer dis, its easier to find a group on int for some reason.

I often deep with mesmers running this build or similar - go in room one and so long as the tank pulls kanaxai to the irk's then the room will be cleared in 1 min. Replacing an ele with a mes is very effective, but most pugs don't know this - so if you do get a team, eaither they will be experienced or they will not have a clue. Watch out.

Be creative..I have made Mesmer PVE bars that I would like to say are both fairly spammable and energy friendly involving only Mesmer skills.

As a PvE Mesmer myself (3k+ hrs), i'd say the best way to do these kind of things is to organise somehting with friends or guildies. I can go with you if you want.
PUG's just won't give up the Shove/BIP/MM/LoD Arcane Mimicry/HB. (if they still run that, haven't been to the Deep for Ages).

Either go with friends, or try to go as a FC nuker or maybe even BIPper in a PuG, I suggest friends/Alliance though, it's more fun that way.

Yes, Ursan is a viable build, no one can argue that. But if you actually want to play as a mesmer, then ursan isn't an option. It all depends on what the OP wants to do. Actually play MESMER or use UB. The two are completely different overall.

Urgoz is possible to do with 3 real people and rest heroes with good builds. I have done it with 2 other guildmembers a while ago. It only took us 2-3hours.
We almost didnt died. Before entering we read the post on wiki to make sure what to do in each area and which strategies to use. It should work. To defeat urgoz we let our heroes out of the range of moss popups and me(Necro SS with Assassin Support and barbs), 2nd guildmember(warrior with deep wound etc) 3th guildmember (ele, also having assassins support) we managed to kill Urgoz in no time. We started running as soon as our spells where casted.
For the deep i suggest to go to International district. Most groups only want 3W, 3Ele, 3Mo, 3Necro's to play. I have been in a few groups that used Me/E, same build as the traditional E/Me but with less attributes in fire.
Although you can do it with 2 other friends/guildmembers, but kanaxai will be hard to kill. My guildfriend and i tried it but never could kill kanaxai himself.

We completed the Deep in two hours several weeks ago. I think this week there is going to be the Deep run.
