".........Hidden Dragon" Guild Wars 2??? [spoilers]
stiffler
This is just a theory thread about GW2. If you have finished GW:EN then you would know about the Dragon that starts to awaken in the Destroyers lair after killing the Great Destroyer, it is well hinted that this would be a feature for GW2. Now there is also some Dragon like figure frozen at the bottom of Drakkar (Dragon) Lake, is there any other evidence that there could be other Dragon like figured hidden around various parts of the 3 GW chapters that could perhaps awaken? This would be a cool easter egg hunt for people interested, thoughts?

This is the dragon's back.
Enjoy fighting that thing...
Oh and yeah, it's much bigger than the thing under Drakkar Lake. I mean holy $&@#!

Sweet, I wonder just how many there are.

Dragon's Gullet anyone? A currently more useless area there is not.
what about the baby dragon in Glint's Challenge? I'm sure that's going to be a huge part of GW2's story.

Hehe.. I noticed that Figure at the bottom of Drakkar Lake, but I wasn't 100% positive about it, since i couldn't make it out too well, I guess it is a dragon afterall. ^^ It's all about the dragons in Guild Wars! Eh.

the fact that we never get to travel the oceans means that anet is hiding something!!! like.....more water beasties like the one in drakkar lake... and all those bones in crystal desert which was once all ocean backs up this crazy theory
forgot to mention, some where i heared it was mention that the jade sea was returning to be an actual sea and a few waters springs were found, which means even more beasties we get to killed like the ones that where stuck in the jade

Obviously the Great Destroyer IS the dragon that wakes up. Hence all the destruction that happens over the next 250 years. You just killed the main source of Destroyers. Clearly the GW2 story will be "OSHI THEY DIDN'T KILL IT!?!"
EternalTempest
All that says is dragons (huge) existing long ago.
The one in the cut scene only looks to be as twice as big as glint.
That and the staff of orr is know in Livia hands who goal is to bring "peace" to krytia...

If you're familiar with TexMod you can take the texture off of the thing under drakkar lake, and the texture off the dragon thing.
I saw someone in the modding thread who took their monk's whole 3d model into 3ds max(?) or some other 3d editing thing.
Maybe they could get the dragon or drakkar lake thing

Some hints regarding "Dragons" in GW2:
1. Phinney or Strain gave an example of a "Dragon destroying a bridge" that you can repair or fight the dragon before in the GW2 preview in PC Gamer.
2. The red stone dragon awaking at the end of GW:EN
3. Glint's Challenge with the Baby Dragon you have to save from the Destroyer
I would like to point out that the Prophecies storyline was basically one of misread Prophecies. After all, it was our heroes that helped the Lich in the end! Because they did not know better.
I tell you, the destroyers are nice guys that want to save us from the dragon menace that we help to hatch by protecting this baby dragon in the Challenge Mission. Or maybe there will be good dragons and bad dragons, who knows.
As GW's storyline is always awfully "inspired" by pop culture, I can imagine a world threatend by dragons like in "Reign of Fire". Dragons and/or Destroyers would be the common enemy of the 5 different factions that wage war against each other as well.

Glint anyone? Caretaker of the world and such, so good dragons wouldn't be such a weird idea. In the light of that fact I'm putting my money on a story that derives from the very creation of Tyria. (perhaps even the great giants or something)
Etta
How do we suppose to fight those big giant lizards then? 250 years from now the Azuras probably and holpfully come up with a new design for the golem. It'll be like Godzilla VS Transformer.

So whats the history of the Dragon Festival in Cantha then? Why is it a "Dragon" festival?

On the other hand it could just be ment to symbolize the great traits of a dragon.
By the way: Holy shi that dragon back is HUGE. I pity my children.

1. First and foremost, Destroyers attacked everything, not just dragons (such as baby Glint). In fact the first quest to start EOTN regardless of your starting continent is to keep the destroyers from attacking the surface (see 'What Lies Beneath' - Tyria, 'I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet' - Cantha, and 'Hole of Istan' - Elona). Also the reason that we see the rats, ooze, and the entire Asuran race is because the Destroyers destroyed their home and pushed them onto the surface.
2. Secondly, if Destroyers are good and Dragons are bad... then why the hell wouldn't the destroyers turn around and kick the crap out of the dragon that is right behind them?!
Which leads me to my conclusion and back the OP. Lets look at your "reasons" why you believe that dragons are all bad (lol) and add a little bit of intellect, some general knowledge about Guild Wars lore, and last but certainly not least logic.
I believe that GW2 will be basically a war between good dragons and bad dragons. Here are some logical reasons that I believe this to be true.
1. Destroyer dragon (at the end of EOTN) is bad, hence the destroyers.
2. Drakkar dragon (dragon in drakkar lake) is bad, hence Jora's brother.
3. Charr dragon (the back is in charr land) is bad, Charr are evil (this one is an assumption but not known).
4. Glint is good (protector of Tyria and revered by the Forgotten who are clearly good, helps defeat Titans which are evil).
5. Kuunavang is good (Helped defeat Shiro and is corruptable so in natural state must be inherently good).
6. Baby Glint (see Glints Challenge) is good as the destroyers (evil) try to kill it and it is the child of Glint.
So we already have a dichotomy of good and evil dragons well established and we know that EOTN is supposed to bridge the gap between GW1 and GW2, so it is safe to assume that GW2 will probably be about (or at least contain) a fight between the aforementioned good dragons and their counterpart the evil dragons.

not sure about the charr dragon. if the skeletal back thing was, at one time, a dragon, then it's pretty dead now. i think that theres a better chance of it being a monument created by th charr. then again it's in the middle of a lake so theres no way for us to get close enough to really see much in detail.
also, the charr aren't really evil. they just follow the shaman caste which wants to control everything. this will most likely change by GW2 when charr are playable.
regarding the dragon behind the destroyers: i don't think that it's the great destroyer. I think the great destroyer had captured it and was keeping it dormant while sapping it's magical energy to allow them to cause the earthquakes that created the fissures that allowed them to escape. not sure how they got the dragon in the frist place though, maybe menzies helped.

it must be an earth dragon!
1: the dragon must have been underground in the first place for the destroyers (who where trapped underground) to reach it.
2: if they used it to cause earthquakes then it must have some control over the earth element.
3: it looks pretty rocky.
would there be a dragon of each element in GW2? the drakkar dragon would probably be a water dragon, though i haven't seen it for myself...

Giga... With regards to the Charr not being inherently evil i agree (cant really be argued via Pyre Fierceshot) but the Shaman Caste could have been corrupted by the dragon (much like Joras brother).
With regards to the dragon behind the great destroyer... I never said that that dragon was the great destroyer. In fact I think that we probably already defeated the great destroyer (at least it was labled the great destroyer, even if it was kinda lame). The dragon was in the central transfer chamber before the great destroyer was (Vekk stated this already) but based on his disposition, the fact that the great destroyer decided to set up camp near him (probably to draw power like you said), and the fact that the cutscene hints at him/it being evil it is fairly safe to assume.... THAT THE DRAGON IS EVIL.
Good points though at least your thoughts were articulated much more than the guy who thought destroyers were our super good care bear friends. lol.

The thing hidden on charr territories is a dragon, just take a look at the pack of fan things that anet has in their web for EotN.
The image of that thing was called *dragon*.

Point taken..... its still evil while glint is good :-P

What I don't understand is how Glint can have baby dragons when we (assuming we did the Bonus in Dragon's Lair) should have killed off all her eggs by now? hehe
ChrisCo
i have no idea what there planing for gw2. But what i can say that in some of the dungeons there are those library like rooms with all the scrolls and the paintings of dragons and other stuff that we have never seen in guild wars.
I cant wait for gw2 gonna have the little asura fighting a giant dragon ... might need mending -_-

My theory: the part in the ice, charr homeland, and endgame are all from the same dragon
ONE HUGH M***** F****** D***...dragon with like ywo heads(1 in ice and 1 in fire) the part in the charr territory is its spine

Dwarves die in GW1, GW2 is the age of the dragon...
Bring back the dwarves please; I don't want another game that's going to be "OMFGI PWNED THAT DRAGON AGAIN!"
Really, I don't want to hear it... Enough with the dragon's; they're old hat now.
