How on earth do you make the hundreds of thousands that people seem to make in this game? Even in hard mode the drops are no different; the gold dropped is no different as well. How on earth do people make hundreds of thousands? Especially given the cost of buying skills, buyinghero gear and skills as well as armour and materials for yourself.

People with obscene wealth tend to be those who have had Guild Wars since the beginning, are good at recognising the value of rare items, and are good at selling them.

Alternatively you can get people with no life who farm the Underworld for Globs of Ectoplasm for hours on end. I can only farm the Underworld for maybe an hour or so before it bores me stupid. I really can't be bothered to do it any more.

Lastly there are the ebayers. Sometimes people who want to get ahead badly enough will buy In-game money online, for real money. This is against the game rules, I suggest you do not try it.

With multiple characters, kitting heroes out can get pricy. I have one special character who has money spent on her heroes, everyone else's heroes get whatever drops. For Instance, unless a nice staff drops for me, Tahlkora keeps her starter staff... I open plenty of chests mind you, so this is not so much of a problem...you get plenty of chest junk from those.

Well alot of people go solo "Underworld" and are farming "Ecto's".
And they sell them for 3K each, so do they make money.

I dont have alot of money, and i dont regret that, i have the money i need, at the moment.

30K storage
10K at characters (5 chars)

So in total 80K and that is not much >.<

I am know bussy with a lvl6 Ranger, i want to make it a survivor ^^
So i need the money for good armor ... So im gonna lose alot of it (NUUUU)

I have 420K in storage, 95% of that money has come through getting lucky drops (Gold Fellblade, farming greens, the occasional rare material) and not spending money on 'rare' skins.

I've never actually bought any weapons, I've either farmed them or obtained them from collectors and then modded them plus I have the pre-order bonus items GotY edition items.

Farming for gold is relatively slow and boring work which I try to avoid, there's some solo'able areas in HM that can give you a few K per run.

Some people really get into the trading aspect of the game.

I know someone who's made 5 million in gold by simply buying low and selling high. Those who deal in high end weapons and rarer items will make even more and faster, but it requires more patience between sales.

Where do people find these rare drops? I've got a LONG way to go before getting that title!

I've never heard of the underworld.

There seems to be an awful lot of secret stuff in this game that depends on knowing what it is already. I don't mind secrets, but give me something i can find rather than something that requires i have a level in somethng i don't know exists on the 8th day of the third week of Smarch while wearing a goblin hat and talking to a hamster named charles.
