Thanks in advance for any tips you guys can offer.
I am trying to evolve an Elder pet starting from a level 5.
I have no problem evolving to aggressive at level 11 but at level 15,16,17, no evolution occurs at all and my pet is stuck at aggressive.
I have done this 3 times and the exact same thing has happened.
Just to get some obvious solutions out of the way I have tried resetting the petname and it isn't that, the pet is on its way to level 20 aggressive.
I have read the guide here on Guru and have followed it exactly, having no points in beastmastery, letting the pet gain experience while dead, etc.
If anyone has had this happen and gotten around it, let me know.
Thanks again
Anyone got tips for evolving an Elder pet?

If you have nightfall just use a junundu since your pet will be 'dead' but will still gain experience. This may not cause it to actually evolve in name but the end result is the same (ie +/-0 dmg +/-0 health).
The wiki says something about a pet becoming elder if it doesn't deal or recieve any damage until it's level 15 so if you really want the 'elder' in the name you could just use the wurms until it's level 15.
You can work on lb/ss titles while your pet gains levels.

Buy a +50% xp 10 minute scroll, take you and your pet to Gates of Kryta, don't start mission, instead run out of town and fight the Mergoyles & Bog's. depending on your build you might need to bring a monk with you- Hero monk would be the best.
After a few times ur pet should be atleast lvl15

I personnally followed the guide on guru and it worked perfectly well. If it is the elder particularity that matters, you can always get a black moa or one of the other pets that are already elder. There are a few elder pets that are charmed by enemies before thay start attacking you, elder wolves, crocos etc. You can always interrupt the enemy charming that pet if you're fast enough and capture it for yourself.

I death lvl my pets Elder within about 1hr 45min being afk
Take Dunkoro with you and whoever else look for the pet you want
clear out any enemies that maybe in the immediate area OR track to that area
after that flag all hero's ect out of the way and flag dunky near
the pet set him to Avoid Combat and no wepon in his hand and unequip any skill that could HEAL you do this in a town before leaving he MUST have Rebirth on
as that gets you resed at only %25 health so the deaths are quicker.
Then go near dunky and the pet start to charm or attack "Carefully as to not kill it"
take of all clothes as per wiki and pet will attack you then when you are dead
it will go after dunky he will res you then run away from the pet attacks and the pet will start attacking you again.
this gets repeated over and over just make sure Dunky isn't near a close wall or something that the pet could block him in and kill him.
When it hits lvl 20 either charm it yourself or have a hero charm it.
Hope I didn't leave anything out takes me 1hr 45 to 50 min per pet
As an example all 4 Wolves are Dire The white one is mine the others were charmed by my hero's.
All using the above method.
Lol fun running a pack of wolves sometimes

'Elder Wolves are found in the Southern Shiverpeaks. They are usually near Thul the Bull in Spearhead Peak'
From Wiki http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Snow_Wolf
Ready made level 15 dire pet.
Can be a pain to charm though.

You people seem to confuse Elder and Dire....
Here's what wiki says about evolving an Elder pet: In order to get an Elder Pet, a way that guarantees success (but is very difficult to accomplish) is to train it while making sure that neither you nor your pet deal/receive damage until it is level 15.
Go the power-level way? Or have a full hero/hench team and use flags to make them fight the mobs while you're just in range to get experience but not in the actual battle itself ?

Oops my mistake about Elder not Dire
Well my post still might be handy to someone so won't edit it.
