i've got a lvl 20 that has nearly done all of the prophecies quests, i've now got nearly all the Warrior/monk skills available - and roughly 400k experience. i've just got Nightfall & Factions as an expansion and was beginning to wonder, there are a few quests in these two new GWs that i can get for my lvl 20, but am i to assume the only way to get the majority of the new skills that are available is to keep leveling up my lvl 20 (ie 1 skill point for every 20k exp). is there any other way i can get my W/Mo the majority of the new skills without a huge grind?

thanks all in advance

You need skill points (experience) to get the new skills (+ 1,000 gold). Do the quests, kill things, only buy the skills you think you may need. You should be okay without having to "grind". The only time in the game that I had to grind for experience/skill points was when going for the Legendary Skill Hunter title.

and just for the record, it's every 15k, not 20k

In NightFall you will earn Hero Skill points as well. You can use these Hero Skill points to unlock skills for your heroes which in turn unlock for your character.

^^but you still have to buy them from a skill trainer (which requires a skill point & 1k) for a pve character...pvp characters can use any unlocked skills.

you could buy the skill pack off of the guild wars store for real money...that would eliminate grinding.

edit::actuall nvm, that only works for pvp i think.

Skill pack unlocks them all, but each char still has to buy them from a skill trainer

Incorrect. In NF, using a hero skill trainer also teaches that character the skill (why do you think that it shows you skills you already have unlocked, but your character doesn't know).

If it's just skillpoints that's the bottleneck, and gold is not a big issue.

GW:EN introduced this new consumable - Star of Transference, which allows transfering a skill point from one character to another. So you could buy skill points of other players (if they have GW:EN so they can craft this consumable - of course.)

Quests in Factions and NF have far bigger exp rewards then those found in Prophecies. Each mission also throws 3 skill points your way with the master rewards. Spending a decent amount of time in the elite missions also means quick lvling.

There isnt as much grind as you think.

Yea, there actually isn't really much grind involved. Even with going for my Skill Hunter title, i've still got enough to use. The amount of EXP you get in quests from Factions/Nightfall is 5,000 - 10,000 whereas Prophecies had quest rewards of 500 - 1,000. You also get skill points from missions so it's not that much of a grind.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned tomes yet. Warrior ones are probably the cheapest of any profession (I've seen them as low as 250g). All it requires is some time spent trapping the Zaishen Elite. Once you get the hang of it, you can reach your daily allocation of 6,000 faction in about a half hour.
