GWEN ele armor seems to have a red tint in the pattern? why?

This is only from my experience of owning Norn and Vangaurd armor, but so far ive noticed a really annoying trend!

The armor seems to have a constant thin, red tint to it no matter what colour you die it. Its like a thin red outline along parts of the pattern.

The issue is that when ive tried to dye both my Norn and Vanguard armor either white or black, it really makes this stand out!

You get a really horrible blend of white/red or black/red and it isnt a pure shade! Now I have my texture settings up full, so its not just my computer not rendering it correctly (I hope)!

The end result is that Im stuck dyeing it red, because no other colours look nice. I could be wrong and this might only be my observation and maybe this doesnt happen with Asuran or Drawf armor...?

Even when you zoom out from your character, you can notice its armor turning from white (which you dye it) to a shade of light red like the colours cant blend and red takes dominance.

Its like an undercoat of red that Anet wasnt quite able to hide!

Am I just going insain? or has anyone else noticed this?

anet has problems with the dye system. this type of thing with inconsistent colors is apparent on some other armors too.

I spent 30K for black dye to dye my brand new Asura armor...and to my VERY EXTREME disappointment, when I dyed it, it too looks like poo! The black dye barely even made a difference, it looks like only a small fraction was even dyed, the brown redish color in the armor didn't dye and now it looks horrible! 30K down the drain....

P.S. the preview window doesn't really show the final result very good since it is such as small window only showing the small specific part of the armor bein dyed....I am so sad that I wasted 30K to make the armor look even worse than even before...

You can resize the window, you know?

And why didn't you buy 1 dye and try that out before buying the rest?

It's exactly the same with the mesmer asuran armor, there seems to be a reddish/orange tint to the armor that wont go away. Very poor imo, as ANet are perfectly aware that customisation of armor/characters/weapons looks is very high on many peoples priorities.

Same here. I dyed my Asuran Necromancer armor black and I've got the reddish tint all over me.

Most of the original Prophecies Mesmer armor has some gross green outlines similar to the red ones you're talking about in the ele armor.

Hopefully all it means is that the ANet staff decided to dedicate more of their time and resources to Guild Wars 2 instead of GWEN >.<

ele dwarven has a purplish + reddish hue to it after i dye it black. luckily it has grown on me. or maybe that's just the cost of the 4 black dyes speaking.

will post a pic later.

freekedoutfish can you post one of the vanguard dyed white in the dye preview window? preferably zoomed in. it was originally one of my targets, but only if it can be dyed white nicely.

Gwen elly armor is just rubbish anyway. The ascended Canthan ones are all nice, as are Vabbi and Ancient, I dont know why anyone would prefer the GW:EN ones instead.

Use a more creative and appealing color. Black and white dye is for the people who want to appear 1337.

My vanguard armor is dyed red, because the white just didnt look right at certain distance or angels and it annoyed me. I dont think I have a screen cap of it in white.

I cant really afford to spend any gold on white dye to show you either. Sorry!

The vanguard armor is actually really nice, and when you put all the ele armors ingame along side one another in the HOM its one of the nicer ones.

Vabbian is still the nicest, but vanguard is a close second IMO!

The point was that it doesnt matter what colour you use, you always get this red line showing through. And for the record most of my armor is either black or white because it looks nicer most of the time!

The woad from the norn also having some color problem as well.If you apply only 1 color it looks fine. But if you add more than one you got some brown tint in the color.
Took me a few color combo to fix it.

i too have the ele dwarven (male) dyed black. The red isn't bad, but the purplish hue is still there, and looks particularly bad on the feet. Here's a picture:

Why? Probably the same reason part of the "trim" of the leggings on the Asuran Paragon armor is red, no matter what dye is applied. I used my trademark teal dye scheme, looks goofy with that red around the thighs.

The Asura Paragon Pants also has a color bug. As you can see this is an obvious flaw, I can't wear these when saving the world! The monsters will laugh at me!

I hope ANET can patch this up soon.

hm, my female monk wants to get a red-ish orange armor so maybe she SHOULD look more at the gw:en armors (for the record her name is mikan which is like a mandarin orange in japan)....and my ele just got the monument skirt because I was going to get the elite kurzick if she didnt like any of the gw:en armors, so it worked out that one was almost the same as the other and while the cost was less the grind was worse, much worse, havent dyed it yet, but the blue-ish purple wont bother her much as her color palate is usually in the blues (and to get one of them I have to mix purple and green so thats fine with me).
