Well if you're bored, then you're boring!

Without making an entirely new set of armor, how about adding accessories to existing sets, as rewards, obtained by collectors or completing certain quests.

Such as:

Assassins can earn the sword assembly to attach to their chest piece (like the hero Anton has)
Ritualists can add a bag of skulls to their leggings
Elementalists could obtain prismatic anklets for their footwear
A necro could earn a skull mask for their headgear
A runner (of any profession) could earn a fannypack ( )

Any other neat ideas you have?

Although, A-net seems to be interested more in the development of GW2 to do anything significant to Guild Wars right now. I'm not neccesarily complaining about that though, I want them to make a good quality game.

Your idea sounds interesting, but it would be a challenge to do it for all the armor peices in the game, now wouldn't it?

Armour upgrades would be fun! It would definitely keep me interested in the game for the next two years.

i like all the ideas but a fanny pack seems a bit girly lol
imho its not really that appealing but everything else seems to be fitting enough.

x the pack and you are on to something.

ANet is currently concerned with GW2 right now and won't even want to deal with things like this.

I'll /Sign just because it's a great idea... But it just won't happen. Not in GW1, anyways.

Do you play on any Ragnarok Online servers?

That'd be so cool in GW.
I, personally, love the idea of cross-proffession wear. The blindfold and chaos gauntlets are great introductions to such a thing.

I think Collectors should be placed all over the three campaigns that offer more cross-proffession armor, but like I said above: highly improbable.

GW:EN brought gauntlets and whatnot any class can wear.

Generic Update #C-341 can bring us more random accessories.

i think of accessoirys something else. when i think of that, i think of maybe powerful magical artefacts. stuff that gives our characters somehow more power.

i want equip to my character things like rings, ear rings, belts, necklaces, tiaras, boots, give them amulets or powerful rune stones or any mystiful jewels.

I'd love it, when the armory system in GW 2 would be improved:

Characters should be able to waer hundres of different head gears (like in Ragnarok online) not only class specific stuff like helms
When I as elementalist for example don't like these magic eyes, then i want for exampole, that my elementalists wears a wizard hat or something other ...
head gears in GW2 should be more different, classes should have more choices per class of what for a type of head gear you want to wear with your character.

Then Ear Rings would be 1 possible Accessory, for arms you must decide then, if you want to wear gauntlets, gloves or rings on your fingers.
gauntlets have then most powerful defense power, but no magical buffs, gloves are semi, rings have lowst to no physical defense power, but you can wear most of them and they have best magical buffs.

armors: the player should decide if he wants to wear a full body armor or only a Half Body armor, full body has stronger defense power, but is heavier, half body has lesser defense, but can give slightly magical buffs and is not so heavy.

shoulder protectors should become possible Accessories and not be ever direct part of armors.
I could write here now a novel about this, however, armor system has lots points, that could be improved for GW2.

Characters should get more stuff to equip, thus giving players more things to make their characters look a lot more individual.
Especially headgears, armors and accessoires are the most important thing of becoming individual and should exists in a very wide number of different things to increase the maximum possible number of individuals, beneath a huge load of different hairstyles and faces, which should be all accessable, total regardless of the campaign ,where you start, and be exchangeable whenever the players wants ...

that sucks really in GW1, that we have still no friseurs to change our hairstyles to any existing hairytele of the game, in matter of the campaigns the player owns, so that we can create for example to proph charas with hairstyles from factions or nightfall, or nightfall charas with the faces from proph and so on ... (thus needing a plastic chirurgy npc lol)

simple begin finally to learn from older MMO's, lots of them have very nice interesting systems that would be awesome in GW1/2 too and just need to be refined so that they will fit to the game and won't look, as if you had just copied only ... i personaly can ever only compared with ragnarok Online for example, played this game before GW for like 5 years and it has lots of things I's see somehow in GW/2 too, in matter of pvp, as like for pve ...

I am all for accessories, irregardless of any "benefits" for wearing them. Rings, chains, earrings, bracelets, watches, etc.

I've been eyeballing the Kournan Pendant for a while as it would go well with my ele's tres chic Istani armor with the chest and feet dyed red, the gloves silver and legs blue.

Adding the bling factor would allow for more individuality than the existing armor system.

Cheers,
TB
