Hey guys, i've had this idea for a while now, and i posted it on my fav. GW podcast's forums first to see what they thought.
Turns out they liked the idea, and that's why i'm posting this on a Anet watched forum now. =)

The idea is to make weapons, focus items and shields that are not inscribable inscribable for a set fee, customizing them to your character.

I was told this would probably crash the market, because 'crappy' blue and purple items would just be made inscribable.
I've thought of a catch, make the 'make inscribable' option available for Rare (gold) items only, and the 'inherent mod' disappears after making it inscribable, to prevent high rate inscriptions being pulled from low grade weapons.

It could be done at a weapons smith, giving a second option next to customizing, something like 'Customize and Inscribe'

Thank you for your time.

It's not a bad idea, so long as the "fee" is quite high.

If you made the fee 100gold, it would affect the market, in a bad way.

If you made the fee 5 ectos and 5 shards + 10k, noone would use the feature unless they found a max crystaline sword.

Personally, I kind of prefer the Diablo 2 approach GW uses:

If you find blue drops, sell them to the merchant.
If you find purple drops, you MAY be able to sell their mods or the main item for a decent amount.
If you find a gold, you're probably going to make a good profit, unless the requirement is high.

LOL - total false statement dood. Only about 10% of golds have useable mods (unless you keep/use non max mods) and I would say that less 5% are resellable. Unless it's req 9 you are not gonna have much luck selling it for profit.
