Can anyone give me any good hints on how to deal with this? This dungeon is very irritating for me.
It has been a pain from the start and at the end my party was far to weak and unprepeared to deal with the boss. I need a little advice on how to do this=S

Just keep beating him down with 60dp, like everyone else.

Mesmers. Backfire, interrupts, etc.

Heh he's a really tough one to kill with 60Dp, I had to go through it a second time, and I'm not the greatest but I got there with 10% bonus, you just have to be careful, especially going through that first area with all the multiple freeze traps.
Emanuel Zorg
He was tough the first time but I've beaten him 2 subsequent times with hero/hench with no deaths. Bring Zho for Broad Head Arrow. I bring Beguiling Haze to get him dazed faster but it's not necessary. I usually bring Gwen, Norgu, and Razah (I've posted the builds I use on them before in another thread, but I can't find any way to find my previous posts, or I'd cut and paste them -- can anyone tell me how to do this?). The keys skills on Razah are Spirit Rift, Splinter Weapon, and Ancestors' Rage for cutting through the larger groups. A Spoil Victor necromancer makes things go faster and you could swap one for one of the mesmers. After you kill everything before the boss platform, activate the res shrine and get out of the area of Diamondshard Mist. After health & energy are full on everyone, run for the boss and do not stop. Focus only on the boss; once he's dazed he's not much of a threat, but you need to beat on him continually and keep him dazed. If you brought some AoE, the things around him will die in the chaos.

Mesmers make everything easier. Ok ignore this advice, its crap. Backfire having a 5s duration and interrupts on extremely fast recharging skills in a lengthly fight are useless.
Broadhead Arrow and Frustration is where its at. BHA keeps it dazed 80-90% of the time, Frustration adds 50 damage everytime its interrupted.

Bring a mes with echo + diversion and spam it , he can't do anything, daze + arcane conundrum will help.

ITT people having trouble with the easiest dungeon in the game.
Take a Shutdown mesmer and an interrupt ranger, and you win. Really, it's that simple. And don't Leeroy everything in the center room, hell, don't even BOTHER with the center room. It's usually better to just clear the small group on the left and make your way to the northern end rather than fighting the clusters of mobs and traps in the center.
Again I say, take interruption. Aside from the Wisps, the entire dungeon is casters. It's foolish not to take some sort of shutdown. Get enough shutdown, and you can take down the dungeon in 10 minutes.

I run Illusion and do include Frustration. Since the boss does indeed to physical attacks as well Clumsiness and Ineptitude have their places for armor-ignoring damage.
What's nice with Frustration, Clumsiness triggers it. If I remember correctly that's -97 for Clumsiness and -53 for Frustration on top of it. Oddly enough... Ineptitude does not trigger Frustration. Pity.
You may scoff at interrupts... but don't forget the power of hero AI interrupting. Even Dunkoro packs Power Surge (think that's right...) for an added interrupt plus energy boost.
Seriously... two mesmers give that boss fits. You should have minimal DP, let alone 60%.

I've done this dungeon about 8 times now -- every time I had 10% bonus before I even got to the boss. It's easy. I take a MM, a paragon, an interruptor, 2 healers, etc
Metal Herc
dont stand in the wards.! They hurt. Alot.
Mesmer in Need
mesmers? bha? blasphemy. I used 2 rit heros (one on resto/channeling and 1 commune/channel) and one n/rt bip/healer. shelter on the communing rit helps sooooo much. i took eve, the 2 ele hench, and mhenlo and we killed the remnant with ~15 dp each

Only dungeon thats almost as easy as this is the oozes..:> ANd even they are realtivly easy *thought he bosses can be a pain to kill, I usually end up with 60Dp on them just cause it's so hard to kill the first one due to asborbtion.
I'm tempted to make this one my farming due to the Light of Deldimar points in the basement.

The Great Al
we made it to the final boss with 60% DP and only won because I had one of those things that wipes all DP from the entire party

I don't want to say I'm the best but I do farm this dungeon the most of all. I do it at least 4 times a day...(call me freaky but its true)
Here's my Team
Me (Warr - axe war or Ele - SF)
Gwen (Power Block + numerous interupts)
Ogden (LoD)
Vekk (Fiya Nuka)
Mhenlo
Lina
Herta
Zho/Talon (Zho if I'm war, Talon if i'm ele)
It is very easy and I can get to the boss with 10% morale boost. You just have to know where to go. This is a map of what I do:
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7829/sodmapkt5.png
Follow the Blue line first, then go back with the Purple line, then follow the Green line. Where it says 3 is a proof of Duty so you can possibly do that but there are less monsters in my route.
Average time for Floor 1: 14-16 mins
Average time for Floor 2: 7-9 mins (including killing the boss)
Have fun and don't forget Light of Deldrimor for those goodies on F2.

Secret Lair of the Snowmen is so much easier for farming Deldrimor Points. 3 SF Heroes = total pwnage.
Winterclaw
I'd bring Gwen with interrupts, cynn and herta. That'd help a ton.

I think he was refering to the hidden treasures. This dungeon has quite a lot on the boss level, 5 or 6 I think.

lawl, 60dp. Look at that crappy mesmer bar. She practically killed him herself. And yes, that's an MM. I had no idea what I'd be fighting in there.

Loki...I see your ranger bar, and it isn't BHA.
For everyone else with problems; Bring Broadhead, and something to beat down on the boss. And you win. Literally, it isn't even hard, you just win.

It's Burning Arrow. I've never needed BHA in PvE. I've never come across enemies that I couldn't deal with without perma dazing them. I had a pretty shitty build in there too. It was designed for fighting fleshy creatures, not a whole dungeon of non fleshy creatures.
Evilsod
Why do you always sound like your full of crap Loki... You've either done very little PvE or you've just died alot vs the bosses that are insanely overpowered.

blablabla
Mesmer FOR THE LOSE

Or PvE just isn't hard? Although, I do admit I haven't done DoA yet, so I can't comment on it's difficulty.

Didn't anyone mention [skill]ward against harm[/skill]?
Take it or you'll break my heart ^^
When I'm on my necro and I have a lot of physicals I usually bring [skill]barbs[/skill] too, it helps getting down nasty bosses a bit faster.
But the ward, it's about the only thing that ALWAYS works when you enter a dungeon unprepared. You will have to flag those heroes in the ward every now and then, flagging heroes a lot saves your butt often in GWEN, sometimes Dunkoro is bored of being backline and rushes in.
If you hate this dungeon I wish you the best of luck with frostmaw's burrow btw. That one had ME cursing in every language I know, popup wurms FTL!
What's your current setup darth? we haven't got too much info to work with.

Interrupts win the day in this one for sure. Hell you don't even need an elite interrupt. Just put a couple on a hero, lock out every other skill for this fight, and specifically tell him/her to keep Ancients busy while your party take down the other 3 mobs then turn your full attention on him.
The first time I went in there I had 60dp by the time I got to the boss but now its a cake walk. I usually have +10% by the end.

Bring Zho and Cynn. Just that. The rest doesn't really matter much, just a bit faster o slower.
One of the easiest dungeons.

Well, we've done it for the 4th time today.
It took us 22 minutes to clear the dungeon.
We have: 2 warriors, 2 monks, 3 fire eles, 1 channeling rit.
I bring Natures Renewal on my warrior, and we just hack and slash through without waiting any moment. I could tag you along if you are REALLY having problems
Gimme a shout ingame, I might not always be available but I'll see what I can do.

Heh, I did the same thing - bringing an MM - and I still ripped the place to shreds.
Dark Interception
Brought Gwen, had to watch out for his aoe till Gwen power locked/diversioned everything

You know with all these new pve only skills I would think ppl would get a little more creative. I have been hearing how cool pain inverter is, So the first time I went as a BA ranger, easy. The second time I brought pain inverter and moved all my heros close so his AOE spell would hit all of us. Lets just say if you can heal the rest of the damage thats the fastest way the I know to bring him down.
BTW its an expersive hex for warriors, rangers, ect. but you only need to cast it 3 or 4 times on him depending on your title track

Well thats where you completely wrong... this hex has half duration on him. So at best you'll be getting 4-5 seconds worth. Considering how much health this boss has, a max of 80 damage per target for 4-5 seconds isn't gonna do jack shit. Believe me, i tried it vs Duncan when i first fought him (failing miserably naturally), it caused 3-5% damage to him in 1 Spirit Rift.... which also wiped most the henchman, and this boss has more than Duncan i think.
And this is easily affordable on Ranger, you just need to run Prep Shot as elite or 14 Expertise/Zealous bow and not spam quite so much.

Just use necros with SS or SV and SoS to speed things up. Imo, BHA + Epidemic is great. (Also... doesn't conditions get halved just like hexes on bosses?)

I guess OP have never used Zho in GWEN. Zho has been improved a lot in GWEN.

As for the dungeon, the interrupt hench does the job. Although i've noticed that sometimes she prefers her crappy penetrating attack to BHA...

4 warriors, 1 interrupt ranger, 3 monks.
The traps don't do any significant damage against platemail, and the boss can't get his nasty spells through.

Ehhhhhh, he's not THAT hard. Yeah he might be difficult right up when there's two other guys around him but when they're down then it's simply a case of beating his massive health down
But I run dual SS necros with [skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill] so that's why.
