The Highlander Woad

I'm considering crafting a highlander woad for my ranger, though I have some questions (I'm a middle-managing ecto farmer so I'm not the richest millionaire on millionaire street).

1) Does the woad blend your face from its normal skin color to the woad color, or does it blend a generic white/pale skin color to the woad color?

2) Are there any half-decent dye combinations for the woad?

1) It seems to create a white-ish area.
2) Blue. FREEDOM!

From the screen shots I've seen, it's like having one's face painted. Some areas appear to be somewhat transparent, around the eyes on the screen shot of the male Highlander moad, but it could have just been the toon and not the moad itself, as it does not appear to do that on the female.
