In last time, more and more mods are made by players, lots of stuff that improves things from UI's, interface styles, ingame graphics, map helps for easier search of map %, something that lets the players see, when they did a critical hit, and so on ...

why don't you not implemet simple these things into the game, when thay are usable, bugless and just are nice additions to improve the game and give even the players more ways to individualize their game, by exchanging interface styles.

Easy Example: We go into the option menu, go to graphics and there wil be then under the point "Interface" a clickable scroll bar, which will let the players choose between the implemented interface styles, like "GW Standard", "Dark Glass" or "Crystal".
When players do a critical hit, why make this niot visible for the player, by putting a ! behind the number or giving the damage numbers then an other color > crimson red for example with black renderings, while normal damage gets shown yellow with white renderings.
Why not simple implement the 75,50,25% marks on HP bars for all players by just implementing the player made text mod into the game by update.

Anet has the best update system i've seen yet in my life for a MMO"RPG" game, so why not use it so implement such nice text mods from players to the game, whn they really are a good help and addition and are naturally not against any rules.
this would make it really easy for noobish people, which have no clue about text mod, or general modding games to get on those nice little benefits too, withlout playing with any files where you might have no clue about what ur doing there, where any little mistake can end in a not working game anymore, and into a unneeded full deletion/reinstall, when all this is muhc easier for everyone, when you can get it by easily updating your game per double click on the exe file of ur game.

When most of all this things are then activateable/changeable via option menu, it would be just optimal for everyone.
And for textmod noobs it would be alot easier XD

Plus it will prevent players from getting mods with key-loggers like some WoW mods.

A few issues with that, unless it was a non-anet related thing (example, the game was given a mod-loading engine instead of actually having the mod incorporated) it would be infringing the modders' copyright, it could be a huge legal headache for Anet. You'd have the community whining over "OMG ANET WASTING TIME ON USELESS STUFFZ!!!" and so on and so forth and finally they would be showing support for mods which is... awkward for them at best.

I like the idea though.

Besides that, making it from unofficial mod to official option in game is not really necessary, ppl can always use it via TexMod.
The biggest problem is keylogger, then everyone should be careful, only downloads mods from some large forums like guru, and which are checked and approved by a moderator.

I like the idea, but have to agree with Artemis. The "legal issues" of implementing this are probably too complicated for Anet to want to get into.

Maybe something for GW2 though.....

yeah for GW 2, when they can implement direct the good things ...., but i want those things now too in GW1 XD

those legal stufss thingy about copyright, ... erhm, doesn't anet have only to prove, that they got allowed by the creator of the mod, to implement it into their game, so that they are allowed to use the "mental belongings" of the creator of the text mod for GW?

Imo thats not so hard at all, how it may look ...
