Asura land = unrealistic difficulty
Tender Wolf
Okay, so first off I'd like to point out that it's stupid that there are only two explorable areas on the way to Rata Sum, but they're so long and there's no town in between. And when you're going to do the primaries, you get mobs that aggro when they're 10 feet away just because you're fighting another mob, sometimes not even of the same specicies. I've only had this problem in Asura territory. I realize they're supposed to be super smart, but come on. This is ridiculous. I finally got Rata Sum but with a 60 DP. Either fix the difficulty or have a town in between Riven Earth and Arbor Bay is what I think should be done. And let's not forget that Oola's Lab during the primary (The Elusive Golemancer) isn't any better, especially since the hero AI has gone so far down. I've got Vekk using meteor shower on a spirit, so I disable it. Then we get mobbed so bad that when I enable it again, it's too late because we're already dead or he dies while casting it. I think something needs to be done.
Antheus
Ah... you're using fire eles... That's your problem right there.
Roman
Realistic difficulty would be 1 hit kills, is that what you want?
Bryant Again
Yeah what the hells *is* unrealistic difficulty? Do you mean unconsistant?
Yanman.be
Wow you use meteor shower!

Again, don't blame the game because you bring the wrong Hero/Hench. The entire EotN expansion is done easily with h/h, so you should stop to wonder why YOU are having such difficulties when others obviously didn't.
I'd suggest looking first at which hench you're taking first because at least 1 is notorious for scattering with AOE, then look at what your heroes are running. Moloch Vein
I don't really understand the problem. I am using these areas to farm Asura points. I generally wipe the entire areas without a single death.
I usually run SV(me), MM(Olias), Water ele(Zhed) and spirit support(Razah). Add Earth, Blood, Heal, Prot hench. Breeze. Moloch Vein
(Second point: Both areas are very easily runnable with any class.)
Arkantos
It's not that these areas are "unrealistically difficult", it's just you need to learn to play better.

Well of the Profane/Mirror of Disenchantment = GG Raptors.
Tarzanboy
I think he is complaining that the Raptors, Kraits and Simian patrols will occasionally come near and pile on. Then again so do Charr and Grawl in the Charr Homelands as well as the Minotaurs, Jotun and Modnir in the Norn. The key is watch the patrol areas before making your Leeroyesque battlecry and make adjustments during the fight as needed.
If you find your H&H attacking spirits with Meteor Shower, maybe you should leash and collar him with defend rather than letting him decide. I'd also agree with the above listed people in that build and party adjustments need to be made for different areas. Cheers, TB Antheus

Almost without exception melee or physical attackers. Enfeebling blood shuts them down so easy it's not even fun. The more the merrier, they'll be doing -3, -4, -5 damage. | The only real "unbalanced" mob in there is one of those thingies that use blood magic (life stealing), coupled with that monster skill that causes deep wound and something else... (wow, I really wasn't paying attention to those areas). There might be dervishes or some other melee aoe class (emphasis - melee). Everything else is shutdown with one or two skills, with LoD + dedicated heal taking care of everything else. kielus
sit down and calm:
1. write down what causes you problems (mobs especially) 2. browse the net or if you know name the skills that cause you problems 3. think how to counter these skills 4. rethink your team build setup, enough offence? ability to fight longer if something goes wrong? defence? 5. don't give up, these areas are really easily h/h-able in no time [DE]
You and Soticoto should team up. Together you'd probably dominate the asuran areas with ease.

The only thing unrealistic is all the dinosaurs....i mean...those guys should have eaten all the asura by now >.>
Evilsod
The only thing i hate about Asuran territory is the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing skill Twisting Jaws... its so hideously overpowered, especially when 4 Tyrannus use it at the same time!

Totally agreed on that one, I dont even want to hold aggro when those are around
onerabbit
i thought Asura land was easiest =/
BlackSephir
Asura land isn't too hard... In fact, the hell will freeze the day when pve will be too hard.
Don't be surprised that when you're fighting one mob, another mob gets you from behind. It's simple- Raptors (and other mobs) run across the whole map. You just need to aggro properly Trub

ARKY!! /SLAP!
The 'worse part' are the dino's that vomit necr0 curses. Otherwise...was fun actually? ________________ PvE Helpful Hint #0034: My Guild Hall seems to smell like sweaty monk socks....ew. wolfwing
Only trouble I really had in Asura are either the Triceratop's...those things are just sickenly evil, sort of suped up versions of the chromscale drakes, and tyranasuarus packs with raptor escort.

You mean like that Twisting Jaws skill they spam? That is as close to 1 hit kill as you can get. Unless you count bosses who can strike for 3x as much.
wolfwing
Like that one tyranasaurus boss that patrols near Bloodstone caverns, his twisting bite is pretty much instant death, and the raptor escort just makes it impossible to focus on him and kill him. Only tried him once been too nervous to go back.

I think you need to think a bit more about your/Hero builds
Sleeper Service
Every time i stroll into Asuran lands i wonder why they dont complain about me killing EVERY SINGLE LIVING THING in a 30 mile radius. seriously, it's a ecological disaster.
Committing Char genocide i can understand. Total annihilation of snow elementals i can comprehend, but butchering helpless wildlife for the sake of some armor? QQ CHUIU
This sounds like a bad case of terrible player syndrome. Its ok, my henchmen sometimes overkill small groups of mobs with meteor showers also.
MithranArkanere
The only single problem I see there is this:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Twisting_Jaws That turn all Dinosaur packs into deadly touchers. Imagine that with half recharge and double damage, in Hard Mode. And remember the packs of 9 or more Raptors you may find. Normal Mode: 1st hit: Deep Wound. 2 more: Target dead. Hard Mode: 1st hit: Deep wound. 2nd: Target Dead. Considering all of them can start with that skill... Only salvation would be 'Can't Touch This!' And I doubt it would always work. thor hammerbane
Realistic?
Mimimimimimimimi.... It's a game, realism shouldn't be a factor when playing the game, unless it's like the sims. If you are getting owned, change your team build. As you progress through most games, a change in strategy is inevitable. Painbringer
Only prob is not watchin patrol patterns the are huge and random. Easy to over agro if not watching

I tried running and couldn't make the last .1% of the run because the incubus stripped my SF. -.- So much for SF being perfect.

Well I'd say it is more difficult than most of the other non-Elite areas in GW:EN.
The dinosaurs are particularly annoying. Mostly because of Twisting Jaws. And then you have the Tengu mimicking your shouts, lol. SotiCoto

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not there.
These days I seem to have too much defense and not enough offense.... and from what you're saying the OP here seems to have the opposite. Am I missing something? Raptors are the only dinosaurs I've really been having issues with lately... and only because I'm not using a block-killer build. Tyrannuses are easy prey. Angorodons steal health a lot but are otherwise a walk in the park. Ceratodons go down ridiculously slowly unless you daze them... but with my full defensive party I can just sit right in Sliver Armor and eat it all up. Those Dervish ones are slightly annoying when they rip my enchants off, but aside from that they're the easiest of the lot. Honestly.... the only things that really bug me on the surface are Krait Arcanoss.... much like any other air elementalist spamming Blinding Surge. I hate that skill so much it hurts. Well... occasionally HUGE mobs of Quetzals can be a pain too, especially with Paragons in the party. But honestly..... *shrugs* I do fine when I'm not blinded. I just tend to throw a hissy fit when I can't hit the bastards for extended periods of time (despite best efforts to counter their anti-melee nastiness). Theus
The only difficult thing about the asuran area's is the fact that occasionally one of your party members will get spiked by four copies of Twisting Jaw's,since it's life stealing, there's really nothing you can do about it.Thankfully,it seems to rarely happen, but its a real drag when you're heading out to a dungeon.
I really hope this skill is changed with the introduction of Hardmode. Government Flu

Eh, I use fire elementalists in the Asuran area and I'm having very little trouble. In fact, I even used fire elementalists in the Charr lands and had no problem completing all of the quests and clearing out the explorable areas. I'm sure I could find a better combination of skills and characters for each place, but I don't care if things are going fine for me to begin with. | I think it just depends on a player's knowledge of what to target and how to pull, as well as management of one's heroes. Micromanagement can save you a lot of pain later. SotiCoto

I really hope this skill is changed with the introduction of Hardmode. Give it to us as a PvE skill and I'd have reason to thank A-Net. Do the monsters get ridiculously uber skills to compensate for their inferior AI or what? Just about all the new monster skills totally outclass anything a player character has access to.... though thankfully the AI is generally crap at using it effectively. I've been Twisting Jaws spiked exactly once. On the contrary, I've slaughtered countless Angorodons by now.... so I'm not that fussed about them. Liberations
Ok, well I use all henchies and heroes, and here's the builds I use:
Me- Searing Flames with MS, Aura of Rest and Fire Attunement and Rebirth Vekk- ^ same Zhed- ^ same Ogden- LoD/Infuse tailored for PvE Zho, interrupt hench Talon and Devona for tanks Mhenlo for monk. I find the game a little easy actually. DoA, now thats difficult. Tarnished Coast? I think you just picked the wrong henchies. Some dinosaurs and destroyers are the only problems I ever have. raptors sometimes travel in huge parties and have pretty decent AI in who to kill first. Angorodons are a pain in the butt, and destroyers? Don't get me started. Anywho GL hope I helped. Corwin_Andros
I had a horrid time in some of those Asura areas at first. Mostly because I was, like the OP trying to get from point A-B and had more of a Dungeon Crawling build, which in a lot of cases meant NO MM. But if you know you are gonna be wandering around or farming, just in the area, a MM is a huge help.
Just have to watch for the raptor patrols. Those bastages are quick and ALL over the damn place, but doing it one mob at a time is pretty quick and easy. Last outing was my mes, Livia as SS, Jin as BHA interupt, and Master as MM, along with Lina, Pimplo, Aiden for Barrage, and Herta. Pretty easy pickings all told. One thing that annoyed me aside from the Err7 disconnects I seem plagued by this weekend (cost me 200 rep points when I got dropped just as the kill 10 in 150 secs one came up), is the way the mobs hold or refuse to hold aggro. On a few occasions when the minions were well out in front, holding the aggro decently enough, a couple of Raptors would break off, run completely around everyone else in the party, and lock on me, who was farthest away and all but out of aggro range. Annoying as hell. But then again I suppose I can't gripe too much, they are playing a bit more like people might. Keeps it a bit more interesting. Zeek Aran

Normally, humans/hench outnumber the dinos. Intelligence SHOULD be in the human's favor. The amount of skills/variety is in your favor. Something that would realistically EAT your probably should get a skill to scale. -Loki-
The Dinosaurs are the only 'difficult' part, because of twisting jaws. Not too much of a problem, but half your group suddenly deep wounded and bleeding gets annoying, especially when a second group of raptors stumbles across you.
Dr Strangelove
Twisting jaws is annoying, but dinos are melee enemies without any sort of healing/support. Hexes, enfeebling blood, blind, wards, aegis or pretty much melee hate makes them harmless.
