I'm working on Duncan and anyone else find that flags/buttons don't work very well? I'm not talking about the hero's ignoring them wich is annoying enough, but when you have to make quick reactionary times with flags anyone else find that they click on a flag and it doesn't register, making you waste vaulable time hitting it a second time?
I've noticed that if you click ON the button but at the very top of it, it doesn't register even though it's clearly on the button.
Old issue, but still anoying.

Ah yes, I've noticed this. When clicking a flag, it takes like a split second... or two to appear. It is kinda annoying with this sort of command lag (Even though its not). I use hotkeys too, now, using f5-f8 and it does the same thing. I don't have THAT much of a problem with it though.

Heh is there a keyboard command for flags? I seem to randomly have the fourth flag activate on me for no reason.

It's one of those bugs that got introduced in an update, Arena Net is either not aware of it or they can't be bothered fixing it.
(Same goes for the Mouse Steering Bug).

Well the not registering is a bug, but what I think it also is, if you look at the button when you press it there is a THIN border around the button, but when it's not pressed, it looks like just part of the button. Though I know I can't be hitting that all the time, nothing more annoyign then hitting the button to get my guys to move from spirit rift or other AOE having it not register, do it again, STILL not registered and by the time the button goes off my guys are dead.

You can bind the flags to any key you want, and even that doesn't work very well for me. There's a delay between pressing the flag key and the 'place flag mode' activating and I often try to place my flag too soon. That does mess things up rather grotesquely sometimes because my would-be-flag-placing click is ignored, and the flag ends up in a spot that I just happen to click next.
wolfwing
Had that happen, plus some times there is a 1-2 second delay between a flag being placed or skill being clicked and when the Heor's do it.

What I find most annoying with flagging is that the henchman and heroes do it too fast.
The problem is that when they cast a spell (something like Fire Attunement or something), and I happen to flag while something is casting that, it gets interrupted and the spell fails. What the in the **** goddamn, dude. Finish the damn spell and then move your ass.

The hero/hench flag buttons do act different than most other buttons you would be using in combat. The skillbar and weapon set buttons activate when you push down on the mouse button. Pressing down and holding on a skill icon will make it activate, but the hero flag buttons trigger when you release the mouse button. If you are trying to quickly click a flag button, by the time you release the mouse button, the curser may no longer be over the button and nothing happens. A lot of other buttons (merchant buy/sell, quest rewards, etc) work this way, but most are not things you would typically be in a rush to click. Any buttons frequently used during a fight (like these hero controls) should be reacting to the mouse click, not the release.
