is there a monument for treasure hunter?
evilkingsky
Anyone with the max title know? What does it look like? Nothing about it on guildwiki, so thought I'd check here. Thanks.
leprekan
I have it .. lol little pile of treasure. In hindsight I guess that is an accurate monument since most of the last 5000 were non max purples. If u need a ss pm in game to remind me to grab one for you.

Topic hijack: Is there one for LDOA?

Another topic hi-jack:
Have anyone ever heard a reasonable explanation why in order to put treasure hunter / wisdom statue in my HoM i must reach maximum (R7) rank?
I mean that's 10.000 chests / gold items!
I'm not saying it's impossible (BTW - congrats Drop of Fear), but on my main char i played over 1800h for the last 2,5years, vanquished, guarded and mapped everything there was - when doing that i opened ~2500 chests and IDed over 2000 gold items. That's more than 99% GW ppl i know, but it's not even 1/4 of the way! I never did any chest runs so far, but I'd be willing to ....if there was any feasible chance of reaching a rank that would allow me to put my title in the HoM - R5-R6 maybe, if i spent another several hundred hours chest running ...but R7? 10000 chests? That's impossible without devoting another year just for that! where's the fun in that?
I get that some titles are meant to be harder than others, and those 2 are prolly one of the hardest ones there are, but i dont know why can't i get HoM recognition for my 2500 chests getting which took some real effort, but i can have a statue for p.ex. R3 silly luck title, which took some 3 nights AFKing.
Lowering HoM statue requirement for wisdom / chests would do no harm to anyone and would be a nice incentintive for some to actually try to get to the required rank.
If anyone from aNet reads this - guys - please consider lowering the required rank. Let "smaller" chest runners have their reward too!
regards!

They should have made a statue of 10.000 keys/lockpicks

Yes, it is a bit on the excessive side. Kurzick/Luxon Titles already get their monument after rank 4, and Hero (HA) after rank 8.

The problem is time - if i wanted (and i want!) to have a HoM statue now I'd have to open 10.000 chests. Opening another 7500 chests to get it would take me prolly another 1000 hours! That doesnt make much sense considering that other statues in HoM can be obtained after 10-20h of farm...

2800 fame that would be like what? 1 month of fame farming? With the right ppl even less.
Miss Puddles
woodydotnet, the luxon/kurzick monuments will show up at rank 4.
obviously they want monuments to be rewarded after x amount of work, but it seems that some requirements are a bit off balance. rank 4 allegiance takes nowhere near the time required as say rank 8 hero, at least it seems that way to me. i'm almost rank 4 luxon from just doing ab's on my days off from work. rank 8 hero just doesn't seem to be on the same level.

I was talking about the (Un)Lucky titles Miss Puddles. They should up early in HoM with no effort except spending lots of gold.

I'm guessing that's why they unlock so early, although it is very inconsistent with the rest of the titles (except PVP...though I believe the PVP titles are all account-wide too?) requiring a max level to display them.
I agree it's probably one of the harder titles to get.
But not knowing exactly how the HoM's displays are going to translate into GW2 content, I have trouble getting too worked up over it. I figure I'll just get there eventually.

chest run outside of port sledge. leprikan said in another treasure hunter thread that you can get, i think, 36 chests per hour farming there if you are serious about maxing it. you will have to talk to him about the specifics though.

Thanks for the advice Wet, still doing it will take me several hundred hours of pure grind runs ONLY to get the statue. That's not exactly what i want - what i want is some consistency from aNet with the monuments policy. If for most of the titles that have more than 1-2 lvls i need to get to ~1/2 of the max rank to display the statue, why for the most expensive and one of the most consuming ones i have to get max?
wetsparks
i think all character based titles have to be maxed to go into hom. (un)lucky, kurz/lux, etc are account based is why they go in at lower levels.
Matt_Night
Your post makes sense, but statues policy makes even less now, since account based titles are easier to get.
I'm practically not doin any dungeons / vanquishing or anything on chars other that main one just to move this little bit toward maxing chesthunter or whatever title. In the long run instead of giving me satisfaction of achieving something I feel bored and disappointed cause obviosly i wont max chesthunter without some heavy grind.

r8 isn't a 1 month thing unless you hold halls multiple times everyday of the month.

Keep in mind that Treasure and Wisdom hunter have practical benefits besides the trophy. Treasure rank increases gets you a 3 point increase in your % chance to retain a lockpick. Wisdom ranks increase your chance to not destroy an item.
The value of the HoM is still a largely unknown thing outside being able to show off your character accomplishments. I don't personally see it as an indication of worth of my characters accomplishments since there are so many restrictions on what can be displayed there. For now, it is mostly intended to provide a benefit to those who played GW1 when they buy GW2, and NOT to display the value of any of your character's achievements. (Well, I guess you could say that the individualized pet statues you can get for some pets would qualify, but that's an exception to the general rule.)
And Matt Wagner is one of my favorite artists.
