ok so really long and depressing story. i have an HP pavillion dv2000 notebook with an AMD Turion64 x2 procesor and 1gig RAM and a nvidia geforce go 6150 video card. plenty of power to play gw with no problems. sadly my wireless card went out two weeks ago and i had to send it in for a replacement. in order for them to replace the card i had to reinstall windows. not a big deal or so i thought. they sent back my computer with a new wireless card and i reinstalled the guild wars client. when i play my fps never goes above 7. its torturing. i have a motorola surfboard sg900 wireless modem that cableone provided with my internet service. i dont have a firewall set so i dont think the modem is the problem. i also reinstalled my videocard driver and still no dice. fps is still 7. what the heck could be the problem?

Have you checked the video driver's own settings? They could be set to something more suitable for a mid-range desktop video card. Most integrated chips like your GF 6150 _choke_ on stuff like antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, etc.

Also, no firewall? Seriously.

See the Nvidia logo in the system tray (bottom right of the screen)? Try clicking that.

If it's not there see if you should be able to access the Nvidia control panel through display properties - right click on empty space on your desktop, then click properties to open that.

If you can't find the driver settings through either you're probably running some crappy video driver issued by your laptop's manufacturer.

yeah i am running a crappy driver from the manufacturer but i have no other choice. i went to the nivida website and they referred me back to HP for driver updates and the latest one is over a year old. plus ive had the laptop almost a year and have never had a problem running GW. it just started happening this past week after i got it back from being repaired by HP.
