Cut down diamond drop rate from dungeon chests

All I've gotten from dungeon chests are golds (not even max) and one green that sucked. Never got a diamond.

I've gotten a pretty fair spread between golds and diamonds. Even got an ugly green. However I don't think the drop rate should go down because that's gaurnteed gold.

Just one suit of the only almost decent ele armor cost 266k for Gwen and outfitting 25 heroes alone cost over 200k. We have not even considered getting off-hands or weapons, or buying things for titles.

I bought 50 diamonds well before the release of eotn. My friends joked that arenanet would add "waterfalls of diamonds" in the new expansion.

....I get diamonds everywhere. No joke, I have 315 of them. I'm sorta sick of them. I'll take armor completely made out of diamonds.

Drop rates could be a little more tweaked i suppose, but what we really need to see are more max gold drops and max golds from 1.5K chests. apart from that, i think its mostly fine...
If anything, consider the Diamond a shard, and the Onyx a ecto for your destroyer weapons. At the end of the day, you always end up with more shards then you really need for your FoW

Sell the Diamonds, take your 1.4 k each, go to Bot Springs and buy 4 gold weapons for 1k. Problem solved.

I agree with the OT. Too many diamonds dropping and they are about worthless. You make more money on the trip down than you do for a so called "reward" for the dungeon. That aint right.
As it stands, I have three dungeons left and have only received one green. The rest have been golds, diamonds, and two onyx gems (which is nice). At the very least it should spit out a max attribute gold and a diamond if its a three level dungeon or above.
Cathedral of Flames might be an exception since you can finish it in under 30 minutes. But most of the three level dungeons do take at least an hour to 90 minutes.

the problem is people like me, who were buying many diamonds prior to ENs release. We have plenty in storage, but we still need onyx for the destroyer weapons. Once our stashes run out, the diamond will raise in price again as people start buying them from Trader... And ironically, the price of onyx will drop as well (what are they now like 7k compared to two weeks ago at 10k?)
Ill never get back the gold/time i spent on diamonds to be 'ready' for EN, but I will hold them until prices go back up, or until I have so many destroyer weapons youd think they were starter wands...
edit: id rather get a diamond than a req 11 or higher ANYTHING...

i busted my ass today doing frostmaws dungeon (wit h/h). and i got a wack req 13 gold wand and less than 400 gold for it.

If the market is flooded with more of these "rare" skins the prices will go down even more, and then you have absolutely zero chance of getting the 100K+ item you're after. wow um no? some groups dont take certain classes because their too narrow minded. why would someone sit there for 30 minutes lfg when no one wants that class when they could have just H/H in 30 minutes? and don't say guild runs, cuz some people are in PvP guilds and just do dungeons casually when they don't PvP. It's not some big guild event. it makes no sense to encourage people to not use heroes and henchman by GIVING us that.

Personally I find Onyx gemstones and Diamonds worthless. I would much prefer the Boss green to be dropping from the dungeon chests, and some decent gold quality weapon beyond that... I'm sure some people really like having the easy gold generators that diamonds and Onyx gemstones seem to be now. but in a few months time, they will be about as valuable as Iron ingots.. IMHO. Personally, I am fine with that. Indeed I couldn't care less if they went down to 25 gold each. The point is beyond a crappy Destroyer weapon they are useless. I much prefer a reward that I earned to be something Useful. If you want to provide for Diamonds and Onyx gemstones for Repeated opens of the chests thats one thing. But your first time on that character should be something decent, not some piece of crap useless crafter material. Because thats all those are after all. I mean how happy would you be to open a hard to attain dungeon chest in HM and get a chunk of Steel, or maybe a Piece of charcoal? None too happy I would think... At least a green you can put on a hero or new character class... What can you really do with a Diamond beyond sell it or craft it into something that more then likely you will never use?

For me the Diamond drop rate is fine. i Had 3diamonds 3 Onyx and a few golds so far from chests.
On the other hand i was in a dungeon with someone who seems to get a whole lot of diamonds. He was already talking about always getting diamonds when we entered. His next 2 dungeon chests were diamonds as well.

not complaining yet, but when my material storage for diamonds fills up completely then I will complain about the diamond drop rate (I have not purchased or traded for a diamond and have about 2 dozen already and only 1 of my characters has done dungeons in eton.....

The drop rates for diamonds are far too high considering they only have 1 (ONE) use. Plenty of them came from Nightfall's Treasure Chests, salvaging certain items, Coffer of Whispers (5 of them!). The demand for them is exactly the same as for significantly more rare Onyx. This makes them not a worthy drop to get, currently every single one of them has to be paired with an Onyx to get something out of it, this leaves a lot of diamonds completely useless.
Either the drop rate should be fixed or better - we need a new worthy use for them.
