Dzagonur Bastion

Yea, it's one of the few left for my title, and no matter what I seem to do, the one place I flag my minion master seems to fall everytime. I've tried starting at both the east and the west flagging two Whispers groups, and an MM over there, and it still drops before I can clear the east. Even if I try it the opposite way around, I still can't seem to keep the one station alive long enough for me to get back and prevent them from killing the second spot, thus ruining masters. I really am at the point of tearing out my hair. It's frustrating to do this mission 15 times, and something different goes wrong each time. So, help?
arsie
I recommend that you go with a friend who has an MM as well. Very obvious solution, but there's a very good reason for it.
Dzagonur Bastion, Jennur's Horde, and Grand Court of Sebelkeh all benefit from another pair of human eyes watching out for spawn groups.
There are people who have done these H&H, but just one other player make these so much easier.
Warrior first, Elementalists last. You'll probably need to run back to fight some fires while you're killing the bosses.

Hmm i'm not sure if you're doing the NM or HM version but i'd go with NM as thats the one i did. Bring running skills and be ready to break off fighting bosses if defenses are falling besides they usually follow you anyway. There will be enough corpses for two MM's, one of them should run with you - anything that can cause distraction to enemies is a good thing.
1. Send all except one whispers group to defend eastern position as it's getting hit the hardest & soonest. And send one MM hero there too with "attack" orders.
2. Leave one group of whispers to defend middle position.
3. You should run to between western and middle position killing them as they come.
4. Just before the bosses come position yourself close to warrior boss, you can pull him far away from his position. Take him to western and kill him there.
5. Start pushing towards monk boss but keep an eye if center needs help as both paragon & monk's troops attack there. The monk boss is a pushover, just gank him down as fast as possible, ignore everything else the boss must die (goes for all of them), you can wrap up the left overs after or pull them with you.
6. RUN to center & eastern position as they need help by this moment. Your MM hero might be dead at this moment as is needing a rez. Defend both positions until the dust settles.
7. It's entirely your choice which boss to kill first but i took out elementalist as they're closer to Eastern position.
8. If you're killing elementalist first like i did, the center position might get attacked while doing this so you have to break off combat again. You can leave that MM-hero there instead just for that case.
9. Elementalist is dead and it's time to wrap things up.

Dont forget those running skills and take devona too if you want more of them. There's no time to run normally when the waves start to come. Maximize your screen to see things as you can almost see the whole battlefield with a little turning. If for some reason you're failing to kill things fast enough, bring elementalists (cynn & herta) - it's about DPS and time.

The whole mission is about killing the bosses. If you see a monk or such, then kill them. But otherwise, with the siege damage, the troops there are enough to hold everything. Just attack the bosses. After you kill them, then break off and run to the next boss. You should be able to kill all the bosses (ending the mission) before you lose any defences. A MM does help as a screen, but try to at least have half the party for damage. A warr train is enough with H/H, but if you can get people then assassins are even better. Nice spike kill then off to next boss. Just don't get bogged down fighting cannon fodder.

This mission was a be-atch. Two of my characters did this with H&H and got expert's, two got master's on their first run. The two who got experts were both spellcaster classes (a Necro and an Elementalist) - my fighter classes were able to get the bosses down fast enough that they were able to win with minimal losses. (My Sin had 6/6 defenses, my Ranger 5/6).
I finally, after many tries (and lots of screaming at the stupidity of the AI), managed to get master's for my spellcasters. I had Master of Whispers and Talkora watch the West bombard with 1 group of Whispers. He was a MM, she a Prot monk. I kept 2 groups of Whispers in the center, and I had myself and the other henches at the East. I tried to help kill off enemies attacking the center until the last final wave attacks before the bosses spawn. I had to do my best to be as close to the East spawn point as possible when that happens. I had Zenmai and Devona; Kim as a Prot monk; Odurra as an Interrupt; and Sogolon as healing/attack/rez backup. My Necro went with a Blood build, my E/A as a Shockwave farmer build. I killed the Ele boss as fast as I could. It's tricky, and if it takes too long, they spawn more troops, which includes a Priest, and that makes it really difficult! Once the Ele boss was down, I had to back off, trying to get back to center/East bombards, fighting every step until the wave was defeated. Both times, I had to run over and rez both Master of Whispers and Talkora, then rush back to center. Another wave of troops, then I took out the Warrior boss at the West spawn gate. Back to center. After that, it was easy. Just hold until the troops get killed, then go after a boss. I took out the Monk boss next, and once he was down I could breathe and concentrate on the Paragon boss.
It took a few tries, trying different combinations of warrior and healer henchies; what groups to send where; etc. But, I got 6/6 with my E/A Character, and 5/6 with my Necro. For me, the key seemed to be finding the right placement for my MM and a Prot monk; having the Whispers groups hold the center - because I'd be close enough to help them out if I could - and taking out the boss as fast as possible. Don't get bogged down figting their allies - the Margonites and Kournans - at the spawn point. Have them follow you back to the bombard! It doesn't do much, but it helps.
I tried this mission with real people, and every time we got butchered because they had no coordination. No one watched what they were supposed to watch, and we got creamed. I gave up and went H&H by myself, and had better success. Though, there were lots of times when I wished I had 1 real person to watch the bombards for me while I went after the bosses! Or, with my Necro, to let me watch the bombards while they took out the bosses.
It can be done, but it isn't easy. Good luck to you!

Best thing to do is make a split team scenario. 2 4-man teams consisting of warrior, monk, necro and a 4th of your choice(I prefer interupter of some type or an elementalist). If your individual team, with the help of some whispers, should be able to take at least the basic forces.
If you can't at least hold your ground, at least give ground slowly. Let the whispers do their job, but don't leave them alone for too long, or then the place starts to fall apart around you. My advice is to split form the beginning, take the middle and plug to whipsers groups to the east and one to the west. Let the 2nd 4 man group go with the single whispers team.
I believe the center is the easiest to defend until the bosses come out. Yet, it is up to you how to best handle the mission.

Got masters on hard mode here last night. There was two of us(both warriors), and we split into two groups each with warrior, mm hero, sf ele hero and prot monk hero. I held the eastern and middle position whilst he went round with his group soloing the bosses (starting with the north-western). It worked great, masters first time. That is your best bet, as seeing it woked on hm, it sould definatly work nm. Or maybe we were just gods

On NM this is the way I have always done it. Every once in a while I get unlucky and don't make it, but it is rare (and those times are usually from a party wipe when the H/H decide not to follow commands for a boss's extra damage). Out of 5 times now only once was expert, the rest masters. I've never split my forces doing it. The first time I was here I can't count how many times I lost trying to clear everything, once I realized that was the only issue it went fairly quick, about the only issue is the Ele boss with it's whole double damage stuff-o wiping out the party or all the defenders (it doesn't always advance either). The minions left as I run are usually enough to hold the normal enemies at bay while the Whispers/siege kill them.
However, I rather suspect that what Steboy93 said is going to be your best bet if both your half's are self sufficient. It will most likely be hard to find such a thing (pure luck), but if you have a four man group that can vanquish early 4 man HM areas they should *at least* be able to deal here in NM (and if you mirror his example on HM also).

It's been almost a month so Grumpy probably already got it; but I finally completed this with H/H in HM with 6/6 intact and got my Legendary Guardian title! The strategy I used in case anyone is interested:
(1) send all Whispers group to the East, guard centre and West
(2) head straight for Warrior boss after the generals appear, kill boss first
(3) pull other groups who try to capture to yourself as you're fighting
(4) then kill Monk boss, then Paragon boss, Elementalist boss last
The heroes and henchies I brought:
- myself: fire Ele with spammable skills
- Acolyte Jin: Burning Arrow conditioner (can probably switch this to anything)
- Master of Whispers: SS
- Olias: Jagged Bones minion bomber
- Mhenlo, Kihm, Devona, Gehraz
Didn't flag anything, everybody came to kill with me. But I probably had it easier since I'm an Ele? :P

This mission is still doing my head in. I'm trying it in HM. The problem I'm having is that the Whispers groups can't hold a gate for very long. I'm trying to h/h this btw, due to the lack of ppl doing this in HM. I send them East, and while killing the other generals notice how they epic fail, get wiped, and subsequently lose the gate
I can't really leave my team to go and try and pull the enemies all the way East while I'm clearing Center and West (I'm playing Monk)
This is so frustrating, I only have 3 more missions left to do in Elona HM and this one is giving me the most problems.
I've tried starting East and get the whispers guys to guard West. Admittedly haven't tried this nearly as often as the other way around.
Any other tactics would be greatly appreciated.

Weird, the Whispers never failed me if I sent all them to the East. Did you take too long to get back to them? I think one point worth noting when the generals appear is to kill the boss first. I headed straaaaight for the Warrior boss when they appear and called him as a target. Saves you a lot of time when everything else stops spawning from that location.
ETA: Ignore the rest in the boss group once the general is down. They don't go to capture and don't follow too far.

I target the Warrior general first, and on a few tries kill him (pretty quick) with SS, and Pain Inverter. And his corpse barely hits the ground when the East gate falls. I'll try again and let you know how it goes
Yay!, I just did it I left my band of h/h's to kill the warrior general while Livia and I went to go and help the guys out at the East Gate. Once the Warrior died we worked our way round to the ELe boss. It was touch and go for a bit but we pulled it off. Vickie's suggestion works perfectly. Try and avoid fighting the guys around to boss as soon as you kill a general, and battle your way to the rest.
I'm so happy now!! Thx guys, and ty Vickie

for this mission , i had 2 MM since theirs enough corpses and i had 3 ele for tough fire power nukes. I myself was a axe warrior to i can contrbute to aoe dmg. Most of the time , you have to split up to help out the whisper guards. standard 2 Monks for party is good.

Does anyone have a tip how to HH this solo on HM? I have done it on NM solo without much trouble ,but I am not sure can it be henched on HM-maybe if you are very lucky.
All tips are welcome. Also if someone need this mission on HM,wisp me ingame so we can try it with 2 man,6 heroes-it should be much easier . IGN-Nara Eversong . Online almost every day afternoon/evenings GMT+1. I am monk btw.

Hi, there was an old thread a while back with advice I used to H/H it. I then used the same strategy when I was running my HM mission service, so I have done this mission countless times with the same strategy.
Build a team of 6 heavy damage dealers and then bring the 2 monk hench. I personally use 1 MM, 1 SS a Power Block Mes, and the ele henches. If you can get 1 more real person, then have them bring all sf eles or someother big damage dealers. When you start, send all the NPCS to the east defense, then you kill the mobs that come in toward the centre and the west. Now the important part, when the last mob has agroed your group before the generals spawn, begin moving your team toward the west General (Warrior), try to have your whole team out of agro and waiting on the generals to spawn, when they do, gank the warrior general immediatley, when he dies you can then move your team back to the safety of the cannons to finish off any mobs that have gone through. Now, when you have cleaned up any remaining mobs, go gank the Monk General, rinse and repeat for each General, if done right this mission is quite easy although very fast paced

But I probably had it easier since I'm an Ele? :P While I won't express the raw emotion I have for Vickie's post like blue.rellik (great response from Vickie btw), I will say it spawned me to try a different strategy for HM. As a ranger, I cheated and went with an Ursan Blessing build, complimented by Poison Tip Sig, Pain Inverter, Needling Shot, Hunter Shot, "Finish Him", Throw Dirt, and Whirling Defense. Granted the Elite kept me from using most of these skills, but it was enuff to get by while it recharged. It was a nice change just to slash away from afar (I had a Forgotten Longbow equipped).
Ok here's what worked for me: Sab's synergy build (2 N/Rt Necros & 1 N/Mo MM). Henchies: Gerhaz, Devona, Sogolon, and Cynn.
Instead of using Vickie's suggestion, I decided (in a fit of frustration actually) to just stack the Whispers on the East side only. Lo and behold, it bought me plenty of time to take down the Warr and Monk bosses, as well sweep up the stray Kournan mobs before going after the last two. By the time I got to the East siiiiiide (moteeeeellll), the rest was cake.
I just finished this mish about 20 minutes ago, and it was the last mish I needed to complete my Legendary Guardian AND Guardian of Elona titles... nice twofer, I must say. Only two titles left until I get that Big @$$ Rainbow Phoenix. thx to Sab and Vickie for the inspiration.

Anyway, Vickie's setup is almost identical to my group setups in the past, and it has always yielded Masters reward for me. Jagged Nova Bomber ftw!

Yeah, I've used a method pretty similar to Vickie's to get masters on this mish on a couple of characters.
Ralena~
Just did this on HM w/ H/H although obviously it would apply to NM as well.
Setup;
Myself: Searing Flames, Sac Meteor Shower
Heroes: Sab's unchanged.
Herta
Mhenlo
Kihm
Devona - Can be replaced with more damage.
Send all whispers east.
I figured the east bombard would be fine for a while, so that leaves 3 rifts.
When the generals spawned I decided I would take out the hardest one first to lighten the load on the center bombard, so I went for the monk boss. Even with Spell Breaker, I managed to kill him before the new waves were released.
With the monk general down, I flagged my entire team back to the center and wiped out the new waves AND the remnants of the monk platoon. This is the hardest part. I had a couple of deaths here and there but it wasn't so bad.
The center bombard's lone squad of 2 vabbian guards held up quite well for some reason, probably because they use Shield's Up! and most of the paragon rift mobs are rangers. I took my time at this part to kill as many groups as needed to lift the death penalty from my team then I took down the warrior general and his group. This ensures that the West Bombard is secure.
At this point, I got the message that the east bombard was under attack, I flagged them over and my minions ran them over. Again, I took my time shifting from the paragon's group and the elementalist's group. The elementalist's group can sometimes spawn a Kournan Priest so I kept killing the waves until one spawned without a priest and took out the Elementalist.
Cleaned up the paragon.
Result: 6/6 intact, masters on HM & no consumables.
I improvised as the mission went on although I had read all the horror stories about it. Keep in mind for masters the minimum is 5 intact so you can let one fall if your group is in bad shape and needs to recover.

The way I finished this in HM was with me and a friend + 6 heroes. Minion Masters have enough fuel to burn in this mission and the minions helps slow down the waves of enemies.
Essentially at the start you should send all the NPC's to the far left side, they should be able to hold out for quite awhile, even in HM. Finish of the first waves then when the portals open, leave the Minion Master and possible another hero near the center to delay any incoming waves. Rush the warrior portal with everyone else and try to take the boss down as quickly as possible. Once done, quickly run back to the center and push for the Monk boss. Once he's down the other two shouldn't be too much of a problem.

i know the OP probably finished this by now but some things that could help players in the future for HM:
at least 2 real players, (neither have to be real monks either, as many prefer having "real monks" opposed to h/h)
my group had 2 wars (humans--1 was sword, not sure what the other was, might both have been)
human ele (searing flames/savannah heat)
me (spiteful/pain inverter)
prot monk and/or heal monk concepts (however you can pull off the best healing type builds you can--whether this be n/rt, rit, monk, etc)
minion master (jagged bones variant with nova, but flesh golem might be ok too)
savannah heat hero
the strategy went as follows:
charge can be a burden to get everyone within earshot sometimes so instead of taking that, take something more useful as an elite to do damage and someone is strongly urged to carry an essence of celerity. VERY VERY USEFUL...use after minor things are killed...and before bosses spawn. that way you can be anywhere and just run all over the place all the time. running is a major key in this mission.
killed things before bosses spawn together. got enough bodies for minions...
ganged up on ele first together, took him down fast.
then had 1 group on war and another on monk mobs. (sorta went necro/war/ele/monk for split teams).
ganged up on paragon. done in under 10 min.
i think you can go for any boss first as long as your whole team is running at all times and can understand calls and ping on map when you need to team up or split up

SNIEVES
just did it yesterday afternoon(christmas day), my fellow guildie needed it, it was him as dervish, me as a burning arrow ranger, my guild leader was playing his monk, and another guy playing warrior, the rest were heroes, had only 1 minion master(master of whispers), we sent all whisper plus the mm to the east gate, while we defended the center killed the small groups as they poped up, as soon as the generals poped up, we attacked them, we tooked out the monk first, then the warrior, paragon and ele, we just killed the general an left the rest of the group there and went on to the next general, that's the key, just need to kill the generals off fast then you get the cut scene, we lost 1 tower , i think, cause we got mission and bonus(masters), fellow guildie was extremely happy, he had been stuck there for 2 weeks, lol
any way hopes this helps.

I do this mission in 13min tops...this is what you do...I myself go SF ele, i bring whispers with jagged MM, i bring 2 hero monks one WoH with Holy Haste and a Zb, then i take devona,eve,khim, and any other henchie {i run it so i allow ppl to go afk}
Ok, first, put all those guys at eastern gate, then i kill all the groups that come at you till 4 bosses spawn, right when bosses spawn rush the war boss right when you kill fast enough, the kournan should be taking over the center, kill the ppl trying to get it,then you rush back to the center, then u rush the monk boss, i kill the monk boss in time if there getting a bombard, but if it says they are getting a bombard and the monk boss isnt half way dead then....run back to the center bombard!!! After go back to monk boss and kill him if you havent already...then go near the center bombard then go for the paragon boss once ur done with him go near the eastern bombard, there should be at least like 6 of those dudes still fighting. Let ur h/h regen then RUSH the ele boss as fast as you can dont worry if 2-3 of ur ppl die, ur h/h will res
Important note: If kournans are getting any of the bombards and if the boss ur killing isnt at half health yet then run back to the bombard they are destroying.
Also, remember once you kill the boss you can ignore the 4-6 other kournan/margs trying to kill you once u run back to the center bombard half way there the aggro will break!

Did this a few days ago HM with 2 others, setup was me as war d-slash/sy spammer with pi, a derv, not sure of his build, a perma sy/tintf para, sabs 3 necros, bha ranger and a zb prot monk.
Breezed through it, actually after second boss para lagged and ran off getting himself killed so we finished off ele and para boss without him, just didnt have time to run over and res. Sent 2 groups left, kept one center. When bosses spawned first did warrior, then monk, rush to defenf east bombard, killed ele, then para.

The key points have already been mentioned, but here are a few tips for HM.
1. If you send all the whispers to the east gate - they should be able to hold it. The time I beat it, they held it indefinitely without support.
2. The bosses will not spawn until you wipe the first set of kournan patrols. There are about 5 of them, so if part of your team is down or you need to recharge - use that to your advantage. Keep a wimp like a kournan bowman alive in the last group and regroup if you need.
3. When you attack the boss group, go for the boss first! The warrior boss is pretty easy to put down - at least for my group. Once the boss is down, you don't have to fight the rest of his bodyguards. Run back to the center - flag your H/H - and regroup. The bodyguards may follow you for a short bit, but will eventually return to their spawn point and not try to cap a defense either. Leave them alone. They're worthless now.
4. Repeat step 3 for each boss group. Try to time it so you're not attacking the boss right as they spawn a new patrol group. I did warrior -> monk -> paragon -> then ele. Once you have 2 bosses down, you basically have the mission beat.
5. Be careful on the ele boss. Interrupts or caster shutdown are good options for him - b/c in HM he spikes for a lot and can wipe an unprepared party.

Send 2 to west
1 center
You mess with center and east. When the bosses spawn, kill the ele boss right after that, then the paragon.
easy win
play agressively.Take devona for "charge".

(1) send all Whispers group to the East, guard centre and West
(2) head straight for Warrior boss after the generals appear, kill boss first
(3) pull other groups who try to capture to yourself as you're fighting
(4) then kill Monk boss, then Paragon boss, Elementalist boss last
Didn't flag anything, everybody came to kill with me. But I probably had it easier since I'm an Ele? :P Thank you for the tips just completed it my self in HM with ease had a few deaths but nothing devastating to the party of H/H.
build
1.myself warior/monk ursan r5
2-4. sab's build with modified ss necro
5. monk
6. mes
7. earth ele
8. ranger
all 6 defences intact and done in 14 min

Yep, thats honestly one of the best ways to complete this in both NM and HM. And consumables are always fun for those who have a bit more trouble.
